I know you guys are busy (and with research I could probably find my own answer), so thank you much for answering the question again, Kryo. And for the record not only is that good news for me, but I also think it is great business practice.

Or you can Voodooking's suggestion and make it into something similar to WoW where you can go down multiple trees, only... The "Earthern Kin" synergizes with other "Earthern Kin" skills, while "Metal Master" does the same thing with itself. Less restrictive but allows for more distinctive builds per demigod.

Hold up, theres a difference between modding and map modding and I think some people might be getting confused (me). In fact I wasn't specific in my reply number 11. I like general mod support as any, which you could download from a third party site to help your UI/whatever. What I was noting was a demand for a "Map generator/modder" which comes right with the game. What happens then would be sort of like Team Fortress 2: When people make really great maps, the devs use that map as an

Also, if you want to get technical the beta has 3v3 gameplay which gives us 6 demigods, even though they are not unique.

I would expect that to happen if the service is temporarily disabled. Sorry, I wasn't clear. When I say "your online service goes under" I meant "the whole company and stardock/impulse is gone forever." I did not mean my internet connection going under.

Seabass, if someone does "download only" and does not get the CDs, what happens to downloading the game if (lord forbid) your online service goes under? It probably won't but what if?

You can pull off 8 Demigods if you can do as innociv said and have more than 2 builds per class. We're talking multiple skill trees and no overpowered tree. They say that what we have now is just a taste.. so I'm going to wait until the next beta(s) before I could make any judgement calls.

I think the option to have those for custom-map games would be a great idea, but for the normal/ ranked games the devs are intending for a fast gameplay that lasts under an hour, where one team will inevitably trump another team. Having all of those at once would really slow things down, as bulding blocks/defenses causes turtling. So if they WERE to occur, any of those items would have to be map-specific. So in the Beta1 map might have a lane blockade but a different map would ha

Brent's idea should be constructable through modding upon release. Try to help people understand how certain game modes can be developed through modding instead of telling them that its a waste of time. Also I know you like modding. I want to make it clear that with the current game system it won't be worth the money unless a good modding system comes out with it. And if it has to be held back past the 4 month limit then so be it.

18 Replies 52,699 Views

The OP puts in this suggestion of making an additional game mode while some posters suggest that they get mod support. Brent, I doubt they'll have time to do it in their current timetable but I think they could work on implementing mod support for what you're talking about, and then modders can do the rest. I'll break down your Idea to show that decent mod support can handle this: The basic idea is that everyone picks their favorite demigod(maybe just from the assasian

Besides the loading pauses at the beginning parts of the game it runs on my platform nicely, especially for a Beta 1. Spore's space stage crashes more than this. I as well as many others are more antsy to point out suggestions than UI/Engine improvements, which is a good sign. I'm looking forward to more units, that means much more creep unit diversity. It needs to be lush with single player and modding options before its turned into the e-sport the devs are aiming it to be.

I think a scaling implementation would be complicated but thats the dev's problems not ours :P The only thing that would suck would be a detailed description on the lock item: "Reduces capture time by 50% in 1v1. Requires two demigods to capture in 2v2. Requires two demigods but reduces capture time by 50% in 3v3. Requires three demigods in 4v4. Requires three demigods but reduces capture time by 50% in 5v5. If you lock a

Well you learn something new every day. Did they post controls for Beta1 at all, by chance? I realize that they're not going to give us a full instruction manual but I would love to see the controls/changes they made in list-form.

Do you think creeps spawning over your flag could allow the flag locking to be toned down a bit?

I agree that most of the time joining mid-game would suck. If I would see one that had 5 min into the game I'd go "hmm, that one probably has not gone to crap (yet)" and I'd jump in. Hey, at least your teammates would love you for it. Unless you're dumber than the AI. Which I probably will be. I've seen AI replaicing dropped players a few time in (I believe) Mario Kart and its not too bad. Innociv, do you think it would be possible to set up some form of dedicated server(s) to avoid t

Right, thats not too bad. I know that freezing and then insta-switching so you can blast away might be a little Imba but at least a reduction promotes people to avoid going full fire or full ice 24/7.

34 Replies 20,936 Views

I like your Idea for the ring of fire spreading out. As of now there's too much point+click simple circular AOE's coming out of Torchbearer. I would like to see a high-teir passive to improve the switch between Ice and Fire to allow for better hybrid play.

I'm thinking they're going to upgrade at different times. Otherwise there is no reason to make the announcement that: The forces of X upgraded! The forces of Y upgraded! at the exact same time and not just say: The forces upgraded! So there were have to be some sort of factor, be it Flag capturing or controlling gold mines. I don't think "buying" it would be a fun factor, who'd be stuck doing that while the other Demigods

I have not tried joining with Hamachi or under a lan yet so I'm not sure if joining in-progress is established at all.. also I feel bad if this is already posted but I did an honest effort looking around at the 3 pages of suggestion topics. I would like game hosters/leaders the option to allow new players to jump in their game within whatever timespan they choose. Think of it as jumping into a match of Team Fotress 2 when its already in progress and joining the action right a

I agree that now is a good time as any to be making suggestions about new Demigods, even though they're going to focus on the 8 ones up until release. I agree with other comments here. I would want him to "be able to use" corpses and not "totally require" corpses to be useful. So in the case of 2v2 where 3 people are corpse dancers, the dancers can go down certain skill trees that buff them without requiring corpses as much. Sure, they might need one or t

I say that 50% takeover reduction when the game reads a 1v1/2v1(someone disconnects), while anything above that has the lock count as one demigod, is a possible solution. It just requires some extra coding to switch the effect of the lock over when it goes from 2v2 to 2v1. You might say "oh that one person is screwed anyway, why bother," But lets say someone on the other side leaves to balance things and its 1v1. You might not think that happens alot but in DotA you

Or, you might want to disable to phase with the options and spot whether thats a creep or Regulus coming at you. I'd sacrifice quality for playability anyday. My point is moot if they enable a minimap, however.

Avatars would be a good idea for the whole community as well, where you use it for playing in groups/guilds, as well as being able to recognize friends when the come online immediately. (see Steam accounts). Customizing colors on Demigods is fine especially because you'll be able to tell the difference between two Rooks. However I would demand that all color schemes are pre-made by the Devs so that we don't have pink polka-dotted Rooks running around.

11 Replies 2,053 Views

The problem with this swordguyj is that the hammer does HUGE damage while the aoe that circles the Rook does less. So if the hammer itself targets mobs in an area you're getting too many units caught in the devastation. The hammer damage was designed to go after a single unit as of now because of balancing issues. I suggest an alternate way to use the move, where you shift+click the ground and the demigod pounds down, so theres no major hammer damage
