Getting pissed off that you see another rook on the team is like getting pissed off in WoW or D2 that theres another Warror or Mage in the Arena/Active game. Also, no one flips out in TF2 when they see two snipers that look exactly alike. If fluff and Lore is the your issue here then steps should be taken to fluff it up, with different demigod skins, glowing weapons, item graphics, etc. Good demigods should look good, evil demigods should be given a darker skin. A two-rook eyesor

I'm against never having random in all tournament matches. Random is not for everyone but it sure as heck IS for some. See: Poker tourneys, D+D dice rolls, even causal backgammon. Its not whether or not you were lucky, its what you do with the luck you're given. You can't go and tell a champion poker player that he was just lucky for the past 4 tourneys he won. With your torchbearer example, thats understandable, but it actually means that the torchbearer is too we

As Reaver said. The trick is to do what WoW did which was take all the goods and leave out all the bads, then BAM, even non-blizz fanboys are playing it. Take the good out of DotA but then leave out all the crap .

Wikipedia says it exactly like I want to: "Cheating AI Cheating AI is a term used to describe the situation where the AI has regularly impossible advantages over the player(s), including faster, stronger, or more damaging attributes. It is typically used in games to artificially increase the difficulty of the game, because humans generally use more intelligent strategies than the AI, and could defeat it much more easily if it were

I said this in another thread before I think but generating random items (perhaps, inside randomly shaped maps) might be a good option to choose when making games, to keep alot of people happy because they see less of "cookie cutter builds." Then when it goes E-sport and we have tourneys, we can force to keep everything regulated and equal per round. Then again we can have Random tourneys as well, and you can choose whether or not you want to enter them. Oh just my opinion here but Cr

Also whats rough about the (current) build of demigod there is four active skills. As in, 4to grab/4maximum. No matter what spec you do you're going to be looking at the same 4 skills (Sans torchbearer). Not so with WoW/D2. Having 4 moves to do at any point in time is fine. Having only 4 moves to put in your circles is not, if they want to pull off 8 demigods. What some suggest is something heavy like 12 skills to pick from and you can only use 4. So when you pick your fourth one, the

I dont see how a bad idea to make alot of hotkeys. One good reason to play computer games is that you have many, many "buttons" available to you on your "controller" so why not use them all?

I like the effect of the undead ground in WC3, howabout something to that effect? Too corny?

Well the whole point is a combinations. Having a lone wolf with a black background is a totally different thing than a lone wolf with a pink background. I like the Idea of glowey stuff especially if they're from items. If you can tell what that person has equipped from a ball circling them you can react differently. It Adds another level to item tactics.

I think its all about balance. In WoW they want you to have epic moves, but they don't want you to have ALL the epic moves at once. Thus, you are stuck in mostly one talent trees. In my image I wanted to give it a more free-feel by letting you bounce around some more. There are still some close-outs to ALL the epic skills (unless you're lvl 25 or something). In Demigod you get four active skills and thats it. Innociv I think we talked about this earlier but we both were thinking

Well I'm fine with zero-discipline as well as long as they keep them all balanced, otherwise we get the current regulus build. I'm just saying that the OP can be a valid suggestion because even though there are disciplines you could still go all over the place, unlike builds you see in diablo/wow. The "synergy" I showed does not need to be just a stats synergy we see in diablo, which I agree is too vanilla. Maybe I should say they just complement each other. Sort of how the OP's examp

Right, well the amount of boxes is arbitrary. There would be alot more boxes within each discipline, so that you could fully go down one path which would give you a better passive at the end of it. So it would be balanced where purple lines would lead to a passive ability. For instance, the red-dot build is not forcing you into something amazing, but a good option to consider. If you go full "melee" the top and bottom lines buff each other substantially so that

Well technically you post a reply. So in your first reply posts... Blarg,I can't edit replies. No wonder people keep making their own topics, at least there they can edit them as they come up with better ideas/better grammar.

Reply to Regulus in Demigod Ideas

I always like the option for a sniper to be invisible until they take their shot, something like Command and Conquer- Generals). So I would agree with camo, which would take care of many of his problems and have him act more like a sniper and less of a mining battle trooper that has a power-shot ability. Not that there's anything wrong with him being a battle trooper.. the sniper/battle trooper specs would be different.

I'll just happy to have an option to play with totally symmetrical maps (Beta1 map) or play a non-symmetrical randomly generated map with features 1-5 in play. Then I can have fun with the random map, and if someone wants to prove to me that they got robbed, we can start up a symmetrical one and show them who's boss (probably them).

Well innociv I went through the trouble of making a horrible paint image to show how I think trees could look to promote different builds for another thread, so I'll just plaster the info here as well since we're compiling suggestions here. I just wanted to show how you could make a tree that has three disciplines but does not force you to stay the same one, For the sake of synergy. Black lines= upgrades skill, previous boxes required Purple lines=

Yea, basiacally. I just wanted to show how you could make a tree that has three disciplines but does not force you to stay the same one. Black lines= upgrades skill, previous boxes required Purple lines= leads you to a new active/passive skill Dotted lines= Shows synergy between skills in the same discipline. Between lvl 1 and lvl 15 there are those + signs that give you better stats.<img style="vertical-align: top;" src

Without adding armor and subtracting speed... Yea, his movement speed is fine and balanced right now, but i just don't like his animation speeds, both turn rate and the walking animation speed. The reason why I want him bigger is so that his body lumbers around slower. I'm not talkin' 2x bigger more like 10% like some people are saying. Maybe what's bothering me is that the other demigods and creeps are pretty huge standing next to buildings as well. They're changing bu
