I hope this gets fixed. I did a fresh install of this under vista and had to do the same thing. Language value was missing so I set it to English and then it worked.

Hi, When I play a metaverse match, I can't see the ship appearance before the battle begins in order to change it, there's just a window with a spinning background. This doesn't happen in the ordinary new game mode. Any suggestions? thanking you in advance!

Hi, I ended up putting Language string English into every registry key to do with galciv2 and in the end it worked! Thanks. There is a registry key called GC2EU and I put language and English in there. I checked on another one of my vista machines and language was blank, so I replaced it with English.

Guys, any ideas what I can try next? I have reinstalled it as well, but it still crashes when I am about to go to the galaxy map. It works in campaign mode though.

Hi I have merged the reg file as you suggested on my installation but the same thing happanes. I will reinstall the game in case it's a broken installation. BTW it's downloaded via impulse, but it should still work?

Dark Avatar crash in Vista in Dark Avatar Stardock Forums

I am having a problem loading Dark Avatar, for some reason Twilight loads fine in Vista with no problems, but for Dark Avatar, when the game is about to show the galaxy map, the frame that should contain a game tip - the one showing during the final load, contains nothing then Dark Avatar closes completely. Thank Stardock Entertainment for a great game! I didn't think games of this calibre were made anymore, it's great. I hope the patch is out soon as I look forward to any improvements there may be, and also a fix for the game crashing occasionally.
