I prefer reverie by afar : if the ennemy has two capitals, you can disable one enough time to take care of the other or eat the ennemy fleet when his Cap is offline if he has only one cap. By the way, it also disables phase jump. Compared to that, Ion bolt is just funny.

-to make the opening more fun, don't waste your income in fortifications and expand straight to your ennemy. Usually, i am attacking the ennemy in less than thirty minutes and i am sure i am kinda slow compared to really skilled players here. By the way, put everything to fast in the game options. Trust me, once you have tried fast speed, you will never go back to normal or slow. -The differences between the three races is a fairly large subject. To summarry, TEC are good in a
#1 Campaign Editor #2 fixed autocast. See the numerous threads about the current issues. #3 Random events #4 Militias colonize their planets and use their (small) income to improve their defenses, build ships including cap ones : once their entire fleet is destroyed you don't have to bomb the planet, just send your colonizing ship but you won't get any former planet upgrade and a tax penalty for several minutes. #5 more avatars, the possibili
The only thing that needs to be done is inhance the visuals of the skills so you can spot a marza using missile barage for miles. The main reason people get killed by it so easyly is because you can barely tell the player has activated it. If it was visualy significant people would be able to react in time.
Yes, it is more challenging, but at least for me, the game becomes a merciless race to crush your oponent with no room for error. Sure it can be gratifying and adrenaline inducing; but I wouldn't call the experience leisury or immersive. The reason I like games like SOASE is because as a fan of sci-fi, I like to feel immersed in an alternative universe where i can play different scenarios and roleplay to a degree. With all its limitation
I strongly agree with the OP. One reason i don't play multiplayer, it is because i like to make my strategy depending of the situation. And going online is just about one question : how do i counter the egg and the marza (edit : well, it's a bit exagerated but still...). And i am not going to take an Akkan just for ion bolt and not a radiance just for detonate antimatter. Winning a battle shouldn't be just about using one cap's ability but about using you caps ability combined with th
I played an Advent game once and was able to beat 2 enemy fleets attacking at the same time since Meteor just hits everything. Personally i love mixing fleet and go to war : As Advent, make 10 LF with your mothership to colonize fastly three planets, then make 3 military labs and go for illum and carriers. Make enough carriers and illum to almost fill your fleet supply level 2, add an Halcyon and attack : you should be able to destroy the enemy cap and his fleet and take one of his early colonized planet with a few loss thanks to micro and shield restore [e digicons]:)[/e] . The AoE is quite small and the amount of damage is not big too. But maybe i have something wrong. I made a research on the foum to see if there was a thread like "cluster warhead rules" or something lik
I am an advent player and i often spam carriers-illum. For me, the best advantage of the illum is that it can attack the ennemy capital ship in the same time they attack the light fregates using their side beams. Your adversary would have to make a critical choice soon in the battle : does he retreat his cap or not ? Ok, you can have the same result with assaillants or LRM focus fire (particulary assaillants thnaks to phase missile) but you won't take the LF in the same time.
that's just sad. By the way, i made these screens with entrenchment so it's not a particular problem of vanilla sins. Thank you for the quick answer, though.
This can be useful to clean mines field : you create a few of them and make them play in the mine field : it needs micro but it is way faster than using scouts.
another thing, IA advent often do something stupid : they fill most of their drone host with mines ! I cried when i saw my ia ally attack a fragile starbase and LOSE because that idiot had 10 drone host filled with homing mines [e digicons]:'([/e] By the way, are vasara ia mad with capital carriers : last time i played, he built five of them and only one evacuator and a kortul [e digicons]o_O[/e]
I have a question about fighters and bombers trail. Thank to bailknight, i changed the value of the width of the trail using entity files to make them more impressive but i still have an issue : the trails disappear even when fighters and bombers are moving, which is ruining the thing. Personally, i don't see any situation where i needed superweapons. I did build a few but it was when i didn't know how to play this game. Now, i know that you have to keep your enemy busy and just build defenses to slow down them until you bring reinforcements. It is all about the offense, so i prefer spend my money in ships and weapon upgrade than in 8 civic labs and thousands credits in researching culture. I just research the culture center to get a 10% bonus in allegiance. If a gam
In other words, you are thinking about a campaign editor, right ? I hope ironclad guys were meaning that or at least thinking about it.
This ability is not that powerful compared to sucking a planet dry or missile barrage but you can make a great combo : use the domination of the rapture combined the ability to reduce cooldown of the revelation battlecruiser. By using that little trick, you can capture almost 50% more ships and it makes a huge difference in a 5 minutes long battle. In fact, every time i start a game, i wonder if i have to go for a mothership or a rapture (which also works great with a radiance
Ironclad don't want to make a campaign, ok, i can understand that. But what about a campaign editor ? When i see the great work done by fans in the modding section, i can't imagine how much excellent campaigns could be done by the community. I have no idea how much work Ironclad would have to to create this tool, though. Games like Age Of empires II, empire earth, Rise of Nations or Starcraft had their official campaign made with an editor given to the consumer with the

My strategy evolved with entrenchment. Before, i was keeping one defense fleet but now, defenses have became so powerful that i can engage a medium fleet with turrets and hangars and a full fleet with a medium upgraded starbase and a few turrets.I only do it on a few chokepoints (2 generally) to avoid screwing my economy. So i can concentrate my forces : if i don't, my ships don't have enough firepower to take down a starbase defended by a fleet (particulary Vasari) if
