there are already at least 2 threads on this. It is do to the unexpected server load caused by the early release by Gamestop and the resulting tens of thousands of pirates. It will be fixed tomorrow when the main servers go up. Only the beta servers are up now.
Gir92
Gamestop threw a wrench in the works by releasing this early. The servers weren't meant to deal with such a huge load today. Everything will be back to normal tomorrow. People need to learn how to be patient.
Rook is probably the most noob friendly.
Kyro has stated that it's due to the added server load. To be fair, they had no idea they were going to have to deal with this today. It should hopefully be fixed by tomorrow.
Odd, I'm using Vista x64 Ultimate (fully updated) and except for the slight problems the server load is causing, it works fine for me.
There is a check for updates at startup, but the server is currently having load issues due to the unplanned early wide-scale release. It should time out after a minute or two and continue on.
I figured that was the problem. Oh well, it will be worth the wait once it all gets fixed.
Same thing has been happening to me. It was working perfectly fine last night and saturday night. (yes I have a legally purchased copy from Impulse)
Could that be why I'm getting constant freezes this morning? Every time I start up Demigod, I have to wait 30-60 seconds before the main screen will pop up, another 30-60 after I click multiplayer, another 30-60 after I click log in, etc etc. Sometimes it will just completely freeze and I have to close it with task manager. This only started this morning.
Torch Bearer. All the way, no others.
Soon enough a batallion of rooks will enter the battle, and thats when "the dark side" will lose everything.
7/10 of the "Batallion of Rooks" will just be noobs for us Dark side pros to farm XP/Gold from. :p
To be honest, I pre ordered this on a whim being 99% sure I would hate the game. I only pre ordered it blindly because of all the attention Stardock was getting for fighting draconian DRM. Turns out I absolutely love the game as well as Stardock. :)
I will personally see to it that The Forces of Darkness don't go down without a fight.
Quoting Gir92, reply 6Torch Bearer. He's just so badass. lol gir. i had NO idea you were a TB fan.
[e digicons][/e]
Come on Kryo, spill the beans. :D
Torch Bearer. He's just so badass.
As the title says, are you guys happy with the amount of pre orders you got? I'm not asking exact numbers, but was it lower/higher/on par with what you expected?
The beta closed a week or so ago. But you will be able to download the full game on Monday.
I'm pretty sure if you order it from Impulse, you'll get it on 4/14. But don't quote me on that, I'm not positive on the international distribution. Ich bin ziemlich sicher, dass, wenn Sie es aus, um Impulse, erhalten Sie sie auf 4 / 14. Aber nicht zitieren mich auf, dass ich nicht positiv auf den internationalen Vertrieb.
My first "WOW!" moment was playing as Torchbearer and using Fire Nova. Watching the exlosion and flames was amazing plus the satisfaction of seeing all of the poor minotaurs fly off the edge. My second moment was looking closely at Regulus' crossbow. That thing is ... incredible.
This right here is mine as well. I would just sit there and laugh as the minataurs went flying. I won't spoil
Man, kids these days will moan and complain about anything... It's just a few days, man up. To say Stardock suddenly doesn't care about the beta testers from this one incident is laughable at the very least considering all that they have done for us.
Nevermind, I'm an idiot. [e digicons]X|[/e] I forgot that the mouse hotkey I have set for Fraps to take screenshots is the key that is set to raise/lower the game speed.
I would like a Poseidon-esque Demigod. Perhaps have the appearance that he's riding on top of a wave when he's moving? Big 'ol trident.
The future of demigod should be similar to past Stardock and gas powered games. So take a look at Sins of solar empire and Supreme commander. There are still updates to them and expansion packs. I think Demigod will last more than 5 years.
I agree with this statement. We aren't talking about a company that's going to sit idle and counting their cash as soon as the game ships. The game IMO is very
Trust me they are already contacting lawyers and showing Gamestop receipts (as they deny they were selling it) from people who purchases Demigod. Quote from Frogboy: "We're pissed" Making them lose more money then they already will, will do no good to anyone. And buying from Gamestop just encourages them to do this more..
Exactly. It's the same as buying an EA game with activation limits. By purchasing that
I'm pissed too. The digital DL should have given us a little headstart, but now it's the contrary. This is the last time I preorder anything from them, too bad for them, that's some $ lost.
As Neil already said, it was not planned to have Gamestop breach their contract and release the games early. You shouldn't blame Stardock for that.
