But why is this wrong? The companies that are worth supporting get supported and those that I deem unworthy get less money. This is surely as consumer-capitalism should be (if it wants to hang on to any shred of non-egoist thinking).
Currently, it's wrong because it's against the law. You should follow the laws of your country whether you agree to them or not. (This is within reason of course; I wouldn't expect you to follow the law if your government told you to murder
Don't simply state this as if it's some sort of de facto truth, show that piracy is wrong. Show that mainstream capitalist ideology is right. If you cannot do this then your argument boils down to "Piracy is wrong because I do not agree with piracy". Also, if you genuinely cannot understand why the "try before you buy" and "poverty" argument fit together then I cannot help you.
I'm not arguing with you about piracy.
There are two options here: 1) You pre-emptively posted before you'd read my whole post/you were trying to appeal to one specific part of the quoted text whilst inconsistenly ignoring the other half which negates your point. 2) You're mindblowingly thick to the degree that you simply couldn't understand me when I typed "I pirate games because I'm a student with almost no money.
You seem to be under the illusion that pirates buy a game to make their original act of piracy "OK". This is just wrong. I pirate games because I'm a student with almost no money. If I pirate a game and it successfully holds my attention for more than two days I'll buy it. End of story.
Come on! Tell the truth. You pirate games because you want to try them before you buy them. Don't give us a line about being a poor student with almost no money. If that were true then y
...BUT having a DRM being installed as soon as you update the game, DRM that will then force you to reactivate the game online if you ever try to move it to another computer, then that IS definetly a DRM, and that's sadly exactly what happens for Sins and Demigod do.
You must be doing something wrong. I bought Sins in December and activated it through Impulse once. Since then I've installed Sins on at least 3 of my laptops and computers. Have never had to 'reactivate' a

You can take the software without paying for it, you can't take the hardware. So they spend what money they have to spend on the hardware and take everything else that makes it worth having to begin with. It's great for the hardware companies, neutral for the software companies. Some of you

I'm not sure if anyone's posted about this game before but holy crap I'm having a lot of fun with this game. At first glance it appears that it's going to be a clickfest like Diablo 2 but no no no my friends. Not sure if this one flew under the radar for a lot of folks but if you like RPG's, turn-based combat, easy to learn, tough to master type games, then this is your cup of tea.

I saw in another post you made that you are using the ASUS G50VT-X5. I too recently purchased that laptop and do everything wirelessly. Not sure what router you are using but I have the Linksys WRT330N Gaming Router with Wireless-N. When connecting using Wireless-N I always have problems with disconnects, lag in games, etc. When switching back to Wireless-G on both the router and the laptop it works flawlessly. Not sure if that's your issue, just thought I'd comment in case it

I also recently bought the ASUS G50VT-X5. I just have to say it is an awesome gaming laptop. It's fun to finally be able to play games at max settings. Sins, DoW2, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3; all at max or near max settings. Can't recommend this one enough; especially for the price. The graphics card is an nVidia 9800M GS with 512MB.
