As a frequent player of the "assassin" Oak, I have to say that he is balanced, but may shine in certain ways that are frustrating to the point of someone throwing up their hands and saying "How the fuck do I beat this?" Let me elaborate. 1.) Oak assassin's effectiveness is partially map-based. As other people here have said, Oak's burst, while not horrible, isn't what wins him fights. Oak kills people by latching on to them and never letting go, taking a beating while killing them, if

My QoT strat is a full support/"Queen of Assists" role. This strat starts her off as a heavy support character and ultimately can get her killing DG's in the mid-late game. First, remember that Bramble Shield is the greatest thing in the universe. It's silly, really, just how good it is. Taking this first/prioritizing it totally makes up for not trying to kill people. Find yourself a Rook, Oak, or a good UB (i specify good because I find that UB are the most fragile of these three) an

When you buy a favor item, that item then becomes free to buy in all of your following matches. ...unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you're confused about. D:

Interesting approach. I wonder, though, if it wouldn't be a wiser choice to leave frost aura and take frost nova? For me, it would be kind of personal preference, but I don't know if you've experimented with an alternate build to this that would incorporate it. The closest I've ever done to this build is replacing fire nova with frost nova, but that's not exactly the direction you're taking here.

[quote who="Sythion" reply="18" id="2190706"] This is true, but even if he gets 4 ranks in snipe by level 10 (early enough to have mage slayer easily), he's still got 6 points into other skills, probably passive. Still, snipe builds are the weakest reg builds imo, and require more gold than he should have to spend. Since he was basically just KSing, yes, that is true in this particular case. Oak is actually very strong in his own right, and if the situation were changed,

[quote who="Sythion" reply="14" id="2190602"]I disagree with everyone on this thread so far. Point #1 is a very bad point. if Regulus is getting lots of kills and hoarding gold, he should immediately be getting base items, then mage slayer, then ashkandor (assuming he isn't going for some weird support build himself). Oak should be immediately fall into a support role in such a case, getting hp items to tank and saving up for catapult rush. The reason is simple, despite the fact that Regulus

You guys are correct in saying that these are good tips for basically any new Demigod player. I just made it out to Regulus players specifically because, by the nature of snipe and of Regulus in general, the two aforementioned points will be happening to them a LOT more often than, say, a newb playing QoT.

[quote who="wooooooooor" reply="6" id="2188837"] Quoting PhoenixBomb, reply 3Full Fire TB's are useful in the same way that a snipe build Regulus is useful: it puts you in the position of ending the game early. Since going on an auto-attack binge as TB typically doesn't end well, all TB builds rely on abilities to do damage. The difference is, ice offers team support and control elements, even when their damage becomes outscaled, whereas a fire TB eventually becomes less able to keep up

I would actually prefer that the newest of new Reg players stay away from mines. Not only does it require them to be up close, but they require a degree of finesse that I sincerely doubt the player will have. Holy hand grenades they are not (well, I guess they sort of are).

Also, one thing I can't emphasize enough... -----------> Currency I Buy this. Don't sit around on 3kish gold thinkin you'll wait to get it after your stinkin HoL; get this fucker first. In 3 min, it will have paid for itself. Do it.

This message applies not to people who are experienced at Demigod but rarely play Regulus, but rather new players that decide to use Regulus. I just played a 2v2 game that was Oak(me) & Reg vs. Oak & TB. I used the "assassin" Oak build, and in my experience, having a Regulus ally with this build is very effective. Pentinence + me chasing/whalloping target + snipe can basically guarantee kills early on, even if the opponent has support (I might die in the process, but only at t

You're looking too much into this, imo. People rave about dual tree build because they offer the maximum amount of flexibility while having both roles of the TB fulfilled: support (ice) and damage (fire). If you go all ice, you'll have a great deal of supporting capabilities, and your team will love you. However, since you sacrifice nearly all stopping power of your own, you have effectively forced yourself to always travel with a companion or risk feeding the enemy team with your dea

Can we get an update on the /nosound issue here? There was a brief showing from a Stardock rep in one of the larger threads, and I believe (might've imagined this D: ) that I saw something in earlier patch notes along the lines of acknowledging its existence. I just want to know if there's any noteworthy progress on this.
