Three words: Gas. Powered. Games. Lurking on these forums and reading between the lines makes it pretty obvious that Gas Powered Games, you know, the guys who actually make the game, aren't taking support of the game seriously. And why should they? Stardock is the one who newbies on the forums and elsewhere blame.

Aroddo, no offense but complaining about Stardock because you got in trouble for griefing the forums is like somone complaining about Blizzard for getting in trouble for gold farming. Yea, I'm sure the forums have some exploits in them. Nothing forces you to exploit them. As for Regnorvex, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's getting a little tired of his thinly veiled attacks on Frogboy. Yes Regnorvex, some people are uninformed. You seem to exemplify the uninformed every time y

+1 to OP. This was the first game I've bought from Stardock and given their amazing support I will be much more likely to buy future games that have their label on it. I mean, this is a case in point. Space Siege sucked hard and that was Gas Powered Games too. Does anyone even know who published Space Siege? I think it was Sega. Did they do anything after release to make it better? No.
valve is better than stardock [e digicons]:P[/e] but i lo

Reply to Fix Yer Game! in Demigod

Why is it that people think the publisher of the game has magical powers to make everything all right? Stardock's the publisher. You don't mention Gas Powered Games even once in your post.
If Stardock didn't develop the netcode, then who did? And why didn't they bust their rumps to fix it?
My understanding is that they licensed raknet (as opposed to Gamespy arcade or other services) to provide the connection server and Gas Powered Games developed the in game net code. As to why Stardock busted their own rumps to fix it, I would speculate that they believed (correctly it seems) that it would be quicker for them to code their own solution than

Reply to Proxy =/ in Demigod

I thought it was /serverproxyonly But like the others said, it depends where you live. I have friends who couldn't connect because their ISP blocked their ports who can now play thanks to this feature.

Much better. But it seems like there are two types of users. There are the users that I instantly connect to and then there's just users who just can't seem to connect to anyone other than the host. They get in but they hold up everyone with their glacial connection speeds.

Reply to MP Update in Demigod
I give the devs some credit for being on the ball of constant updates, but at the same time were still in beta testing IMO MP wise.
The devs credit? I haven't seen anyone from Gas Powered Games show up. I will give Stardock credit though for making a bad situation a lot more bearable. p.s. tonight's update works great for me.

As a new Stardock customer I am just amazed at how much they are supporting their game. I don't mean to be critical of Gas Powered Games but where are they? This is their game. If I had a problem with Company of Heroes I'd expect to hear from Relic, not have the CEO of THQ having to do all this. Good for you Stardock but I would like to hear more from Gas Powered Games.

I'm surprised how many people forget that the game wasn't even supposed to come out until yesterday but are expecting instant gratification for their connection problems. There were a ton more people trying to play on release than they had expected. Even a normal launch is hard enough but to start out running even harder. I'm having a blast with the game.

I just got it from Gamestop. I didn't know they had released it early or I would have waited too. I haven't gotten to play it much until today and so far it looks incredible. Loving it. In the future I'll pre order from Stardock though to support this kind of great game making.
