There needs to be consequences... this is the biggest problem with DotA. I know the comparison probably sholdn't be made so much but a lot of DotA players are coming to Demigod because of the horrible DotA "community". Good DotA games are rare at best and there is no way to know or control the problems of leavers, spammers, or just general poor sportsmanship. When I first heard of Demigod I immediatly thought that it could be a much more controlled environment and ac

btw.. here is the request from Frogboy, Stardock: One request I do have for the community: While we know statistically that multiplayer is working in most cases, there are a lot of people who cannot connect. Please refrain from telling users that they need to learn how to use their router or whatever. The fact is, people shouldn’t have to configure their routers to play a video game. We do ask those who are having problems to have as much patience as they can muste

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but it was my understanding that it uses port 6073 simply to setup the game. In other words it is publishing the new game's information to DG via port 6073, not hosting it on 6073. As soon as players are connecting it uses different ports and whatnot via peer-to-peer networking. I've even been told it's like 6100-65535. I've tried port fowarding just about every range and even tweaked the Impulse stuff (via ImpulseReactorOptions.exe).

Hang in there... the game is worth it. In the meantime.. go brush up your skills with some AI players in single player. ;) Single player can pretty much be just as fun as multiplayer. =D

I haven't had much problem connecting. The longest I've had to wait is maybe 2-3 minutes to join a 5/6 game. The biggest problem I've had is constant extreme lag with some games... not sure the cause. I'm not entirely convinced it's the game's fault but rather specs, drivers... etc. The game more or less works.. but until we identify all the possible problems with people's own networks and whatnot it's going to be rocky. Unfortunetly the game is new so people

Indeed.. I've had a couple epic games. It only takes one and you are pretty much hooked. =D

Ahh ha haaa... nice. Glad I read this thread. I wish we could change the binding though. Pressing Alt when you have your hands on/near 1,2,3,4 isn't exactly easy... Alt-Right click is the correct answer. =D

Maybe some items, similar to DotA, but not just a random item. Or just make it an option for the game setup. People love options. ;) =D

Holding down the spacebar and moving the mouse is another good way to move the camera around easier. It all takes some getting use to. A more popular thread about the mini-map is here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/347147 =D

I agree this would be nice. I for one have gotten use to not having it but still the option to instantly take a look at somewhere else on the map would be very handy. You can already freely move the camera around the map but its not nearly worth the effort where-as a simple click on the minimap would be excellent. If the game wasn't meant to allow you to see what else is going on the camera would always be tracking the DG. Why not make it easier? Fleeing from an enemy

I'd say its very fun to play single player. I've had some epic games against the AI. The AI seems fairly smart but I've seen the AI do some stupid things... like try to kill me when I'm standing next to a heath crystal. Maybe thats based on the level though. *shrugs* =D

Reply to dual monitor in Demigod

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this and I'm pretty sure future versions would have proper cursor locking. Thanks for posting the link though.. I plan on checking it out. I wasn't impressed with other suggested resources such as WMC (Windows Mouse Capture). The only thing it really effects is edge screen scrolling. I simply changed my playing tactic and rely on hitting 'T' (Character Tracking) to handle the camera more. When I need to move manually

It's a bit whacky but I was finally able to get it working. Assumptions made it confusing. I pre-ordered the game today. I installed impulse for the first time as well because this is my first game with it. Created a Stardock/Impulse account (using same email address as purchased) and verified it. It automatically had Demigod available and I downloaded it and installed. If you right-click -> 'View Registration' on the game it gives you the serial numbe
