My game freezes and the sound loops, can't even alt f4 or open task manager, have to hard boot. :( Happened once in like 30-40 games before, happened twice tonight. Turned sound to low quality and reverb off. Hoping that fixes it. Also updated to 186.08 forceware drivers.

Dude gimme the coles notes. There are posts that are too long, and then there is your post. That is a short story. I read a few lines here and there and it sounds like you got solid points but theres just no way in hell I'm reading all that.

What I don't get is that I have a 4.25ghz quadcore, gtx 295 overclocked, 8 gigs of ram, etc, and occasionally my simscore dips down to ~8 and someone else in the game will have 9, and I ask what they have and they have a 2.xx dual core or 3ghz dualcore or whatever. It's not a constant thing but it happens occasionally and makes little sense to me.

The thing the naysayers are right about in this thread is that the chat system in demigod is terrible. It sure wouldn't hurt to have a decent chat system like in Steam. Would promote friendships and organized play outside of the elite who would use irc or msn etc. Game is still alive last I checked though.

The heroes are all pretty well balanced with the HoL as it is. It's an item that is pretty darn high priority which makes the game worse because it reduces customization (It's pretty much a requirement) but at the same time, making HoL worse, or balancing it, would unbalance the game as a whole. Leaving it intact and unchanged is the lesser of two evils at this point.

Curious as to how the 1.01 patch effected players with low upload speeds (10-13k/s). Prior to this patch my friend tried to play and couldn't even handle 2v2 without huge ping spikes, he was limited to 3 players in a game only. He's gone for a while, so I'm curious if anyone can report what improvement they've had in playability.

Mooster that's true of many things but not so true for computer hardware at the high end. The 920 D0 is approximately $350 cdn whlie the 965 is $1300. The difference is only in clockspeed, which is 2.66ghz -> 3.2. A 920 D0 can be overclocked to 4ghz guaranteed, with 4.25 or better not uncommon (4.5 pretty consistent on a quality motherboard such as the EVGA Classified). The 965 overclocks are very similar and will GENERALLY only surpass the 920 if you are using liqu

As said above, the 965 is a waste of money relative to the 920 (especially the d0 stepping), unless your planning on putting it under ln2 and going for a world record (even then you'll be beat by the 975). I just dont know what to say, I sure hope your overclocking cus otherwise you paid 800-900 more for speeds that you could of easily surpassed with a moderate overclock on an I7 920 D0. You could of taken that saved cash and put it toward gtx 295 sli or something of that sort.</p

I got a few (3) access violation errors in about 20 minutes of trying to play, which is a lot more than I usually get (one every few days maybe).. Wasn't alt tabbing or doing anything else that Demigod doesn't like. I'll give it another go later, hopefully its a fluke.
