it's down atm for one

I love the game but yeah im a bit in disbelief how bad the multiplayer side of things are. I mean it's harder than hell just to get INTO a game, once you start playing it's alright. How a game can have such a pathetic system beats the hell out of me. Sure i can see where the pirate thing might have hurt them unexpectedly initially, but now they have put those changes in place it's still really piss poor the way it performs. Actually starting to regret a little that i pu
Wtf been out to dinner and home again and they're still down!! I know if i was a reviewer they'd be losing 0.1 of a rating for every 30 minutes starting now! FFS!
Pity the servers have gone kapuut despite the good update
Nah they said they have people in Stardock in Europe as well. Am positive someone is probably already alerted. Frog's prolly got a device tied around his toe to shock him in the event of server failure anyway - cant risk any more bad reviews, has got a good collection of them already.
I can get custom games to work most of the time - though it's still very dodgy with the way the nat works. But skirmish and pantheon is basically a joke. What happens is it will either just sit there and do nothing for ages then say it's failed - or more commonly is i will actually leave it looking and go AFK and come back when i hear noises and the game has launched but of a 3v3 or so it's just me and one other guy vs 100% ai as if everyone has dropped or it's launched
Buy it and spread the word - the game deserves support. Very enjoyable. And you can single player skirmish
Restarting impulse will then let you update.
I think its more a case of they pre-plan to allow for a year of updates AND THEN if there is a sizeable player base(ie potential customers to buy expansions) they will continue to work on it. No customers = no money = no updates. All pretty logical really. Look at Sins, it's had a few big updates etc - would have all come from creating a healthy fanbase. If a game dies in the pan, you're not going to keep throwing money at it hoping to turn it around. IF it's successful from the start
Yeah it's this kind of thing that has me concerned about longevity. Though a good player i suppose can really overpower and outplay another making very aggressive forward attacks potent. Just thought there'd be more in the way of 'super skill' type things for the higher level characters - particularly those end of tree skills.
I think you are wrong. Games like WC3 and SC work flawlessly from day one for the most part. This game/the impulse client are utter trash as far as ease of use and connectability are concerned. A good idea only gets you so far, you need a game that works well to back up that good idea. Hopefully they can pull something out of their behinds and get this thing on track but gamers don't generally put a game down for a month and
I think its important to note that with your big horde of minions while they are also a nonstop source of lesser damage, they are also damage shields. Watch what you can do to enemy towers while the minions are soaking up the damage. When they all die, back off, rinse, repeat. A constant flood of them at the enemy means you can use them as cover to push hard.
Do you guys feel the end of tree skills are powerful enough? I feel a little underwhelmed by the end of tree skills - i mean, i'd like some huge nuke or graphical effect thing that really looks like it's an 'end of tree's skill that you've built up to.
How do you even play Pantheon? Every time i try it doesnt start. Last nigth had like 4 people connected to each otehr than nada. Have tried a bunch of times now.
Yeah good work guys and kudos for surprising me. When i first saw Demigod was annoucned and based on the DOTA style of gameplay i was immediately excited. I lost interest along the way as i really found the screenshots and various videos just did NOT do it for me. It wasnt until i took a chance and saw the game in motion that i was basically very impressed with the finished product. I am sure once the connection issues are resolved there will be inbalances and b
Funnily enough the biggest issues are getting INTO a game and getting it started. Usually when its underway it's mostly ok - other than the occasional lag or dropper for no reason. What's making it so hard to deal with is the game is pure crack. It has the addictiveness of DOTA and it's just plain goddamn enjoyable.
What's wrong with creating an incredibly playable, fun game? What makes a game nowadays? Take Sins and Demigod as examples - a game created without all the gloss packaging and reviewer friendly 'items' that increase review points. Would you prefer the core game, the bit you're going to be playing over and over and over is all there and completely enjoyable? Or would you prefer it was half as good because a smaller developer has instead allocated their time to creat
Concentrate on keeping your demigod alive too. If you die too often and are a few levels down it can be very very hard to evade death when the enemy are a few levels higher. Had this problem last night where I died so many times as i just couldn't get away from the enemy demigods when they were like 4-5 levels higher than me.
The update has drastically helped starting games. It's not perfect and it still needs (imo) lots of work but it's a LOT better than the hours of 'no games'. The games too damned addictive to not be playing it thx.
Just patched, here's hoping!
Looks like the new patch was just released,
On the bright side there was like 15 full hamachi servers up last night and I got a handful of games in. Was quite some good fun. I think if the game is supported over time with bug/balance fixes, added demigods, and new maps, it will be an epicly good game.
\ How does one get involved in these hamachi games? Any details?
Man, cant even get a game period tonight. Have tried skirmish, panthenon, custom games. Can join lobbies but nothing actually launches into the game. Played a few last night and really enjoyed it but tonight...it's 7:50pm now, Ive been home since 5:55pm - that's almost two hours trying to just play the game multiplayer and well yeah it's completely frustrating. Carn guys!
That;s a really good point actually - that reviewing is agenda based. With Gamespot that would almost be 100% accurate imo.
It's true, a game should be finished when released - however when you're bringing in thousands of potential online users, there IS an unknown element to it. If it's an offline game you know things like latency and matchmaking just arent an issue. But an online service, while it should have been extensively tested, there is always potential for an unknown element - such as Demigods release. It's not right to blame Gamespot, but at the same time Gamespot should have more sense than to r
