I'm also an Asian player. Recently I tried to play with US players but it ended up with me getting kicked because of high ping (300+). There was no Asian host in game list. I've tried playing Parthenon, and at last I can play full game. However, playing the game using 1 demigod make me bored. You might try hamachi. I just too frustrated with the servers. If you can't see/host games in hamachi, you should see http://logmeinwiki.com/wiki/Hamachi:Gaming_over_Hamachi . search for Hamachi broadcast fix.
For me the game isn't worth $40. Why? The game itself built for multiplayer gaming, plus bot. No story mode and most important, tutorial! I would love to see how the DGs meet each other one by one. I actually pirated the game at first, but then decided to buy it. I see Demigod has bright future. Only if Stardock/GPG can upcome the connection problem plus some new DGs, I bet this game capable to replace Warcraft III/DotA, which made the genre popular. Go go Stardock/GPG!!
i have to agree that killing DG gives to much gold. This really affect late game, as the losing team are almost impossible to make a comeback, due to getting pwned as they respawn.
I'm in japan, which ISP here doesn't provide configurable modem/router for portforwarding. I've tried using hamachi method but it seems to connect to my friend's pc with P2P method. We can't connect to each other. Other games like Warcraft III, Starcraft and bla bla bla doesn't have any lag at all. Seriously there's doesn't need to implement P2P connection, at least for LAN gaming. I would be happy if they give users to choice method of connection.
