I suppose a good question is why those people quit, is the gamedesign such that it dosnt really harbour enough intrest for those not steamrolling other side to play it or what. If you crack that puzzle the quitting for sure would be dimished.
Exactly. When someone manages to create a game where losing is fun then this whole thread will become moot.

Nobody thinks this is a good idea?
I am probably the biggest anti-DRM advocate out there and I can safely say Impulse is NOT DRM. Software DRM is code that is injected into the game itself to make it resistant to copying. Demigod doesn't have any of that. I use NOD32 Anti-Virus that has NO DRM and is a great low-footprint product. They protect the integrity of their product by using a username/password from within the program to download updates. Nothing fancy, nothing sneaky but it works. I have no problem with develo
Why do pirates always assume that they simply MUST play every game even if they can't afford to buy it or are not willing to buy it? That's what I hate about *those* people. And please, don't try to use your geographical location as a way of justifying piracy either. Don't try the, "it's not sold where I live, so I had no choice" argument; *I* live in a country where PC games are not sold domestically, yet I manage perfectly well to purchase games.
I have seen chris701 on many other forum posts complaining about Lord E being OP. Irony is when he plays Erebus he gets owned by pretty much every other class, especially other Erbus' which make him more mad.
With current connectivity issues its fair to say you dont most of the time have a CLUE if enemy/yourside is actually quitting or not.
Actually it is probably obvious when you kill another player in a close fight and they leave almost immediately... 80% of the time when a player leaves I hold the tab button to see the person who left is on a spawn timer.
There really ought to be a surrender button after a certain period of time during a match that the whole team can vote on so that it doesnt take an extra 10 minutes to "lose".
This is a great idea. Wasting 10 minutes of your life just to watch the opposing team farm you for gold as you watch all your buildings burn is anything but fun. In a chess game I can resign at anytime and it is not considered 'ragequit'.
The whole favor system is so broken, when you enter a pantheon game you have NO idea if you will have favor points, if the points you got last game will be there, if the item you bought last game will be there, maybe you lose 400 favor points, maybe you lose ALL your favor points, maybe you need to buy your favor items again and your points have been refunded.... My point is that it's broken. Why not just disable it entirely so we can all play fairly until they get it fixed? This seem
I don't think there is any balance issues with individual characters, however, the imbalance becomes obvious with how certain high gold items scale the character. Using the right combination of gear can really exploit some of the strengths of your character to almost exploitive levels. Some of the gear needs to be nerfed a bit, and gold for player kills needs to be reduced.
Its an exploit. The minion caps are there for a reason. I don't care if it costs a million gold or if the benefit of the extra minions is debated. It deliberately circumvents a balance mechanic. Even laying that aside it is either worth doing or not worth doing. If its not worth doing then it does not matter. If its worth doing then every General player needs to learn how to juggle idols and all sorts of stupid crap to get 10
The game is not really that complicated, so there is not much of an excuse for only playing one character. I would suggest getting to know all the characters as each one has its own strengths and weaknesses.
Against Lord E mid to endgame I would suggest a minon spec with Oak, esspecially if Lord E is minion spec. Surge of Faith is devestating on Lord E mid to endgame as it negates all his minions. Use Penitence to limit mobility and supplement weapon damage with attackspeed gear. Against Oak early game is easy as he is very weak untill Surge of Faith at lvl 5. Using movement speed against him is wise as it limits his ability to retreat and negates the benifits of Penitence. Once Oak reach
The game is meant to be lost by one team. If it gets to the point where one team is stacking artifacts, there shouldn't be a comeback, and it's time for the game to end.
So you would much rather have the entire opposing team drop out at about lvl 12 when momentum becomes obvious? Or how about when you barely get to mid game and are slightly losing to have one of your teammates quit and get replaced with a dumb as fuk computer
Another great way to increase your chance of joining a game by 40% is to forward ports 6073 TCP and UDP and ports 6100-6200 UDP on your router/firewall. You need to activate the manual ports by running ImpluseReactorOptions.exe in your DemigodInstallFolder\bin. This really has helped me out quite a bit and with the few improvements in the last patch I would say my connection chance has been increased by 60%!

But if you can fiqure all that out it does help a lot. I would
I have to admit, I was one of those people who pirated this game. I saw the mixed reviews and I wanted to play the whole thing to see for myself. I found the core of the game to be incredibly enjoyable. There are obviously tons of issues that need to be addressed but the core game is quite amazing and fun. So despite all the game's flaws I bought the game and my buddy did too! We are now both looking forward to the multiplayer issues getting ironed out. We have managed to play a few g
