my W7-64 runs fine, too... apart from the crackling sound bug which doesn't seem to be W7 related.

nah, quadro. And even if that fixes the crackling sound: It should work with any amount of speakers. Others manage just fine.
Dragon Age is the perfect game for me. I'm not going to buy it. Announcing a DLC even before the game is released is an insult. In fact, this business practice causes me to never ever buy a product from any company embracing consumer exploitation like this. I wish EA financial ruin.
You have the same problems with a much more modern soundcard? So that means I don't need a new sound card and it's all GPGs fault?
I just switched xp for w7 and got the old sound crackling back. I had that sound problem on xp for a while, too, but I got it halfway fixed so that the sound only stutters in the demigod selection screen (where you can pick the DG you want to play). But now that I got W7 installed, the sound bug is back in all it's glory. I checked it with creative audigy 2 and the onboard realtek sound - both the same (and no: I don't have both active at the same time). I get le
... which is so totally unlike Fallout 3
Yeah, that made me want to quit. But "luckily" the replay value of Assassin's Creed was low, so you didn't have to suffer that tutorial much more than once. :)
The tutorial part is the worst: The most interesting part of the game - the unique and extensive skill system which makes even playing the same character worth replaying from scratch (theorhetically) can't even be accessed before you hit level 5 ... which takes quite a while. Maybe 40 minutes or even longer. One has to ask himself: What the hell were the first four levels good for? Apart from wasting time, that is. So what we have here is a mandatory tutorial lasting nearly an hour fo
Stay the hell away from Borderlands if you ever liked Fallout 3 and expect something like it. It's more a mix of half-life 2 with a skill systen akin to diablo 2 set in a "borderlands" type world. None of the atmosphere but the same lack of greenery. Otherwise it's decent enough. And it has .... issues: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/367947
Introducing my current favorite on how developers can skillfully destroy fun that was probably there. Borderlands Borderlands is an ego shooter with comic graphics (aka cell shading) and roleplaying-like character development (the diablo-like rpg ... not the D&D-like type). The game in itself is your standard half-life experience if it wasn't for details like e

The problem isn't censorship. The problem is religion In the middle ages the church deemed it to be pious to forsake the natural urge to procreate: "Give all your love to God". Hence celibacy, matrons raping younger nuns with candlesticks and priests having sex with choir boys (the carnal acts are not part of official church policy). What started as piety became dogma, then culture. So, modesty good - sex bad. On the other hand, the ch

bloody expensive for a micro expansion...
True, advertising sells more than quality. Anyway, in terms of turn based 4x strategy it's far more fun than GalCiv2 ... but that's just my opinion - I could never warm myself for that game.
Next beta version is announced to be released soon ... maybe a week or so. My guess is that new beta testers get admitted once it's out, so go and queue up. :)
*sniff* I think I finally found a worthy successor to Master of Orion 2 ! The game is in early beta and despite everything you'd expect in a game at that stage I have so much fun! Definite must-buy for me.
There are several inbuilt scifi scenarios in Civilization 4 and their expansions. It's quite amazing how flexible the Civ-engine is. There's even an alpha centauri mod for it but I think it doesn't support different terrain levels, which was kinda the coolest thing in AC.
If you are looking for an alternative to Master of Orion 2 then you might want to give Armada 2526 a try. Balance Change frequency. Ok, minor stuff like the Heart of Life issue got taken care of after just, oh, 4 months or so. But Queen of Thorns sucked from the start and it took less than a month for everyone to realize that she has no redeeming qualities apart from her artwork. Yet here we are, half a year later, and she still sucks. Oh, changes have been announced for the next patch which will probably come at the same time as the new two demigods and it will only be a matter o
MoO runs well on DosBox on linux, windows and OS X. :)
Armada 2525 ... ah, those old times ... I liked the complete lack of diplomacy. :D
