How do we go about seeing if hardware acceleration is turned on in Vista? As far as I understood, in Vista it's automatically on. The option to turn it on/off isn't available in the dxdiag screen like in xp either. Edit. From what I've read, on Vista any games that rely on DirectSound for hardware-accelerated sound are reduced to software acceleration. So since I have onboard sound, the only thing I can do is to get an external sound card?

Yeah this is a real shame because the game is awesome and clearly just needed another month or two of hard work on fixing the large number of bugs that sadly persist and make the game mostly unplayable for some of us.

/nosound does indeed help. With /nosound I get simspeeds of around 8 for the first 20 or so minutes (without /nosound I get simspeeds around 3-4 for those 20 min) ... however, no matter what at some point during the game everything slows to an unplayable crawl and I get to 0 or -1 simspeed. I have sent them the email with the game and dxdiag logs, but the response I got certainly doesn't fill me with hope that the issue will ever be fixed. *sigh*

Yeah I also play supcom regularly and see no such problems. The game runs smoothly on the highest graphics settings. I also don't get the crackling sound that I get in demigod.

Hi, I've been having the same problems at the OP. I have tried updating the drivers for the sound card. Any ideas of anything else I can do? Thanks a lot. ------------------ System Information -----------

I have also encountered this problem. However, sometimes it's even worse and I completely get locked out of being able to select skills, potions. Everytime the first bug appears, this second one usually comes along with it and I have to stop the game and start anew.

I am also having the same problem. I have tried everything I can think of: reinstalling and updating all drivers, trying on the 32 bit vista partition on my computer, etc. Nothing has worked or even given any performance boost. Here are my system specs: Gateway P7811Fx laptop Processor Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 / 2.26 GHz w/ 3MB L2 cache Chipset type Mobile Intel PM45 Express <spa
