Future content in the form of maps or demigods would have to be paid for. On in other words, we ponied up to have GPG make these two, but future ones have to be paid for by players if it is determined there's a sufficient market for them. I realize some people are upset and clearly the easier path is to just not say anything but part of what makes Stardock what it is is that we try to be transparent on such things.
Again I ask, w

I was stoked to Occ and my TB fix as soon as possible, and glad they didn't wait until they had things all set... of course after seeing what dramatic nillies everyone acted like, maybe they should have made a little announcement and told people to simmah down and there'd be an easier way of doing things the next d
We want users to be happy with the game. We are happy with Demigod. We like hanging out with many of the members of the community. But I think it's clear that it would be a huge mistake to try to release future non-free updates for Demigod (i.e. map or demigod modules). Certainly, some people would buy such content. But not enough to where I would feel comfortable justifying our team or asking GPG's team work on it, especial
What happens next should be no surprise: Users are confused about the new product. Some people can figure it out, others can't. They start posting on the forums. "What's the deal? What's with this new product that is not documented or supported? Why was there no formal introduction to it? Why do I have to go to teh skreeching forumz to learn how this product works?" Tensions mount and frustations get higher and higher.&n
@kolonel_klink: DLC that cost money would not be there just to "milk" the Demigod players. It would be there to finance the actual content. I'd rather pay a reasonable small price for an additional map, than having no new map at all. GPG can't just produce new content out of thin air. Stardock needs to pay them to do it and Stardock can't pull that money out of thin air either of course .
Two words: expansion pack. I know you don't

My one complaint about this system was the fact that it was a precursor to paid content (which I posted in the 'Update...' thread), something which SHOULD NOT HAPPEN in a game like this. I know I can be considered 'one of the trolls' who raised a stink about this situation but I honestly don't like the future implications of the system. Think about it from a consumer/community/gameplay perspective: The player-base for Demigod is extremely small as it is, and GPG/Stardock thought it was a grea
We wanted to see if there was a way to justify making more maps and demigods for the game. We'll never know now.
Uh, what did you think was going to happen? As transparent as Stardock usually are, it would have been nice to get a heads-up on the situation. Also, are you trying to imply that because no one was notified of this plan and some of us (including myself) raised a stink about the situation (and the possi

Reply to Updating.... in Demigod

To be honest, if this is the future of Demigod or rather, the future business practices of Stardock, I want no part of this. I was excited to see a new Demigod update with Oculus no less and couldn't wait for the update. First thing I did (haven't installed the new patch yet as I'm currently having some net trouble) was look at the 'View History'. This is what surprised me most. I have to 'buy' my Demigods now? Is this what Demigod has come to? It's bad enough that a large portion of

Greetings fellow Demigod players. Long time lurker, first time poster on these boards. I am posting on behalf of my brother (player Dudus) who had programmed a little something he likes to call the: <img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://legionarylabs.com/demirandom/header.png" alt="Demigod
