If you look in the manual it says specifically that the tournament takes place in a spirit world. Meaning the items are not physically real and allow a demigod to "wear" multiple items of the same type.

Bulwark of the ages has a flat 20 or 25 percent damage reduction on top of the armor and health increases, was that taken into consideration for the mitigation?

I think there are a few options that can be considered regarding the AI replacement 1. The AI can be buffed artifically, like the nightmare level AI gets gold/exp at a quicker rate and is thus harder to kill. Pros, they AI isn't just an XP/gold fountain for other players. Unfortunately, a cube and spheres lack any sort of personality and would look out of place in the demigod universe. On the plus side, I would like to see a minion based Demigod, with passive leadership type buffs that affect all allies like this. Allies meaning reinforcements, friendly demigods, and friendly minions.
