Do you get a load screen with [no text] on it? If so, just deleting your game.prefs file should sort that.
I am getting the load screen with text, but I deleted the game prefs anyways. This was done a few times since starting the thread.
It makes me wonder if there are other programs running on you're computer. There is a batch file somewere on the forum listing all the programs run at startup. can you run that and list the result here? http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/enumerate_startup.bat
I made sure to hound my friend while he was over to remove everything I did not need on my computer. I'm on my own again till next
Progress! I was lucky enough to have another one of my PC guru buddies stop by today and after messing around with my pc he found something called Microsoft Office Groove on my machine. I have absolutely no idea how that got in there. Anyways, this software seems to be the culprit creating the audio issues with my game. Once he was able to remove from my PC, which he
Ok here's an update. A friend was nice enough to lend me his sound card (X-FI Extreme Gamer Pro). We got the latest drivers for the card and still no luck. Oh and to answer your question Gabber, yes I have both disabled my sound card device in the past AND I tried /nosound shortcut. We also just updated my video card 7800 GTX to see if that would work. No luck. I think it's safe to say that this isn't a sound issue, that is unless anyone has another suggestion.

I've updated just about everything I can possibly update, including direct X and updated the amount of volatage my memory stick was getting (apparently I had mine set incorectly) and still no luck. I urge all of you who have similar issues to PLEASE get in contact with Stardock. If they continue to think this is some sort of isolated issue, our problem will sit on the bottom of the "to do" list. Even if all you send is your error message, it will be helpful to all of us.
Thanks for the tip Vermactnis. I went with Ccleaner instead of regcure. Seemed like there was a ton of bad reviews and Ccleaner was free. Unfortunately no luck.
Jaxian: Thanks a ton. Lots to digest and learn from. Glad to hear that there are folks out there who could beat the game 8/8 on hard. I'll keep yall posted on my progress once I get a chance to play again.
Please contact about this, they will gather this and any other debug info they need to pass on to the developers so they can investigate.
I already did on sunday. I basically copy and pasted my forum post with a link that directs them to here.

Ok, just tried to get a game going online with zero luck. I know that's something your company is in the middle of trying to fix as well so I'm not sure if that's on my end, your end or both. Another friend suggested I try the pirated copy of the game, just to see if that works but I rather avoid going down that road, espcially since I already paid for mine. I know its a three day weekend and possibly noone is around to help but I have my brother around and I would love to get
I forgot to mention some of the suggestions I've tried (had my brother helping). Updated Video Card Drivers, Updated onboard Sound Card Drivers, Updated Motherboard. Reinstalling Impulse and the game (2nd time from my brother's DVD disk). A friend mentioned something about memory leak, but I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. Hope this helps
I've own the game for almost three weeks and to this day I have not been able to play the game offline (haven't checked online). Heard many great things about the game from my brother and friends, they mentioned that perhaps I just need to wait for the game to be patched but after this much time, I think it's time to come on here and seek help. When I start the game up, I can check friends list, mess with the setting and no problems. The momment I t
