Congrats on getting the game ! It's a good one, but has a bit of a learning curve. I recommend playing with a few demi's at first then picking a demigod and learning the skills for that one. I would have to recommend Beast, Erebus or Oak. Be sure to check the strategy forums for different builds. Also as of note, you can wear more than 1 of the same item (ie. 2 helms, 2 armors etc.) Most demi's are played with 2 helms, 2 armors and boots. (ig. Vlemish + Ple
Gentlemen, Pot Split There should absolutely be a percentage of the pot to go to the 3rd place team to make coming in 3rd place worthy of fighting for. The anticipated pot is currently $700 so I will use this as a basis for my suggested break downs: Pot Split 1 $90 goes to the team that wins the round robin 50% of the balance goes to the winner of the playoffs ($305 fo

Pacov - Yes, a team that drops out of the tourney could influence the outcome of the tourney per your description. The fairness would be that the final teams that are left are compared to each other only. I think that in the case that all of the remaining active teams have played the teams who have decided to drop out, then those points could remain on the board. In your example all 3 teams played each other, lets add a 4th in there to expand. Team A = 5 po

Unfortunately the fairest thing to do is when a team drops out, which is inevitable, then anyone who has played them and won has the points removed from their overall score. Just for an example, 20 teams enter, teams 11-20 drop out. Then the 10 teams that are left are only compared to each other and the games they played against each other. The only possible exception would be if all of the remaining teams played a team that has dropped out. (i.g. team #20 drops out

It is my understanding that a new patch will be released, timeframe is unknown. It is also my understanding that it is already in the contract between Stardock and GPG. I currently have no reason to doubt it's release but it may be sometime though. J

Haha i might be the oldest, but wisest is certainly in question [e digicons]8C[/e] I agree Thunder, Orcun raised that issue up a day or two ago, and that was a solution i proposed shortly thereafter. I couldn't think of another solution that would be fair. j

While I am not a gambler i am willing to wager @ 5 to 1 odds on this prediction: The team that wins the round robin will be in one of the money winning slot of the playoffs. So $46 plus (first, second, third) place winnings has a compound effect as opposed to just a standalone number. also, if the top 3 places win money then that only leaves 1 team out of the top 4 that doesnt win money from the playoffs. <stro

If you are going to critisize something cow, then provide alternatives. Better do it quick as well since things are in motion for the marketing. Would just dumping the huzzzzzzaaahh out of it help ? It's also currently listed as Pacov's Last Stand (the last stand being in regards to oak's skill of rising from the dead)

Gentlemen, First off, i thought we voted to do a full round robin tournament instead of a round robin to a bracket system. With that in mind my suggestion is to have the playoffs as round robin as well. Playoff Suggestion 1 Each team of the top 4 plays each other for an additional 3 games. A tie would result in a tie breaker. Playoff Suggestion 2</stron
On my wish list - I would love for someone to throw together some sort of common intro for us to use at the start of our matches. I think I had a good idea showing the win % and ladder rank of folks (but I won't be implementing the commentary I wanted for this one over that title page (where I show the win % - I wanted to talk through each players playstyle and so on). Anyway, the overall game I picked it just a scrub, somewhat
p.s. Pacov, use fraps.. records voice, video, game sound, and you start / stop with a hotkey at anytime. Well... I like that, but I'm going to see what I can find around for free... hopefully something. edit - you know who would be funny as shite doing replay commentary? Peter. Someone would do something silly and he would start into a rant about something. I'd find it amusing anyway
<

Xmarks is looking into the possibility of a paid service. They are looking for people to pledge to the service to see if it is viable. The plege is $10/year. Nothing is donated at this time, they are just performing research to see if it is a viable option. Here is a link to the story http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/would_you_pay_10year_keep_xma

In regards to your first post, yes. One team will have to pick first for the first game, second for the second game and the outcomes will determine who picks first for the 3rd game. in regards to your second post, i actually agree with that and am debating my current vote.
