I think for pausing, if you go to the settings for the game at the start and set "timeouts", each "timeout" is a pause - so pop it on "unlimited" and you'll be able to pause your heart out.

To be fair I don't see why it's not just made that when you buy an item with +mana pool, it doesn't automatically give you the mana. Since all shops (aside from artifact ones, boohoo) are right beside a regen crystal I don't see it as being much of a problem.
Favor items already give people a whisker of advantage over new players, adding more stuff such as long-term stat enhancements would be quite silly.

If anything needs hotfixed it's the single-player favor point savnig thing. Unless you're now "supposed" to have to save up and only occasionally buy a favor item; which is unlikely and ubercrap.
I think objectives are only scored if your team ultimately wins. The only way to get a decent personal favor score above 10ish if your side lost is to get lots of demigod kills.
