I've made a written list of "Cool" and "Dick" players and found it very helpful for avoiding the jerkoffs, since I have also had my fill of them. And also adding the cool players to the in game "friends" list. I agree that this community seems to have an unusually high portion of assholes that take the game way too damned seriously. Maybe they just behave immaturely because they really are immature. There are so few of us left anyway that when the urge to play develops

It's funny that Oak has two of the lamest "skills," and I use the term loosely, in all of Demigod - Shield cap locking and the spirit citadel rush. I love playing Oak and have never used Shield locking because it is so lame, now I'll also add minion build to the list. Let's have a little integrity, people. After all, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should...
One of the most comprehensive guides I have ever seen for a DG. Thanks for your efforts!
A few other things I've noticed that may not be bugs but should be considered on the adjust/change list: Sedna's Heal and Oak's Shield can apparently be used on idols and creeps. Now fortunately I am usually able to separate the worthy recipients for these spells, but every so often (such as with lag jerk or poor targeting on my part) in a heated battle with lots of minions an creeps, they get it instead of me or my team mate. Doesn't it seem foolish
One bug that I haven't seen in this thread is regarding LVL 1 Priest (Monk) idol minions. Sometimes if I summon them near the citadel, one will get stuck inside the structure and hang out there until I sell them off and purchase the next level priest idol. For me, it only seems to happen with the Monk idol, and it doesn't happen every game. Sure is a disadvantage if I'm the only general and can only have one Monk until I can afford the next level. Has anyone seen this
Is this the build you are referring to, Thundercles? If so, it looks similar to Teseer's, but I still think I like his better. I am interested in seeing any revisions/suggestions you might have as well. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/370859
If jerks were the reason why games go by the wayside, then it would happen to every single game ever made in short order. Sure there are plenty of assholes in the DG community, but it's no different than any other PC game. But you are right, the guys that whine the whole game really ruin the experience. I'd rather lose with a bunch of cool players than win with a bunch of whiners. Funny thing is that it seems the biggest whiners are usually the really good and/or exper
An expansion would be fantastic, and I too would gladly pay $20 for it. New DGs, new maps, perhaps an expanded single player campaign, all noted bugs fixed - that would be outstanding. I still don't think new DGs are really necessary, but an expansion pack probably wouldn't sell too well without them. League of Legends, huh? I wouldn't mind trying it out, but I'm not a big fan of buying everything piecemeal. There is a "Collector's Pack" for sale, which
Yeah, I can vouch for that on Crucible. Just make sure you summon them after you've ported. It's still more than worthwhile to get those flags early. Unless the other team also has the same idea. Wouldn't be out of the question to have an opposing Sedna and Oak there right along with you...
I'll need to check that out again - Hauberk didn't seem to do that to the minions I had last game. What do you think about Theurgist's Cap in a minion build? If you chose to do more of a hybrid build but still wanted something to boost the minions, what would be the best item you might choose? Gloves of Fell-Darkur? Or just save up and sell everything for God Plate?
Is there still some kind of bug with Hauberk of Life? Is that why you didn't include that in this build? I've searched the forums and tried it myself with Oak - it seems to give spirits the proper amount of health even after they are created. Not to mention it gives Oak a little boost. Is there a bug with Godplate as well? (not that anyone ever has enough for it)
I didn't think any DGs actually had any ethnicity besides Sedna, and she's clearly Samoan. Erebus is just pasty because he's a bloodsucker - could be any race, really.
I've always felt that good games don't need to have much added to improve upon them. If all the bugs from DG 1 could be worked out and many of the single and multiplayer game improvements made, that's really all that's necessary to make an improvement in the sequel. Having said this, there should be a single player campaign - nothing too fancy, perhaps a world with 10 continents from which each DG originates. Conquer each continent and the world is yours (o
Ha, good one, Captain Rhodes. Wish I could interrupt Spit sometime - lag pretty much usually ensures that the only thing I'll be doing that to is teleports and cap locks. By the way, Teseer, I use and enjoy your TB build quite often. There are plenty of jag offs in the community, along with cool players. Just like anywhere else you visit - work, school, the gym, etc. Make a list of cool players on your friends list (Shift + Alt in lobby). N
I don't think it will die out. Seems one can still get a game together just about anytime online. I just got an email for Total Annihilation on Impulse! And it is still played on a server called WarZone, among others, as far as I know... Probably just core gamers (pun intended) from 1997, but it still gives some hope for a game that's not even officially one year old.
