I've been having the same issue for months. Another side effect you haven't mentioned is that if you create a new file then move it, it also moves the last file/files you had selected in a fence. No idea what triggers it as sometimes I can create a new file/folder and move/rename,etc with no side effects, othertime this bug crops up. I mentioned it in the beta thread as the problem is still present in the current beta and someone said they will look into it. However that was now weeks

I've encountered what I assume is a bug and could be the cause of some of the reported problems from earlier versions of fences with icons falling out of their fence. If hightlight an icon or icons within a fence either by directly clicking on it or dragging over them and move them. If I then create a folder/text file,etc outside a fence it does not "unselect" the previously highlight icons. Meaning that if move or delete the newly created folder/file the icons in t

I've been having these problems too. I renamed a text file that was on the desktop, outside any fences and it also renamed one of my shortcuts( the old republic) to the same name. Then earlier today I deleted an icon from one fence and it was instantly replaced by a shortcut from another fence(it moved, not duplicated). I also regularly have the problem that icons randomly become unattached from their fences. I am using the latest version of fences as I use stardock

Feature request: Copy to desktop in Start8 Stardock Forums

some apps/games add a start menu entry but not a desktop icon. In past windows versions I've just copied the shortcut from the start menu. However right clicking an item in start8's start menu doesn't give the copy option, nor does dragging the shortcut over to the desktop. Could Copy/pasting the shortcuts in the menu be added?

This has happened to me a few times too. Not all the icons but random ones slightly outside their fence. It didn't seem to happen until I started using windows 8, however that could just be a coincidence. Hopefully it will get fixed as if you can't count on the icons staying in their fence it kind of defeats the point of using it.

Is there any way to get this running in Windows 8? The screen just flashes black and then back to the desktop. It worked fine when I tried it last yeat in Windows 7. Also the stardock registration will not let me sign in, it just stays on the spinning blue thing forever. Is the why it wont load? some form of drm kicking in?
