@Sithis44 What do you mean by that? If you mean strictly by release, they did the TEC the first week of March and the Advent the first week of April. They are one whole week behind (the horror!), which is easily explained because one would expect balancing to be more time-intensive with two races instead of one.
I've found this to be true as well. I assumed it was because TEC Loyalists are so defensively oriented, but the retreating thing makes no sense. I haven't tried playing against the Rebels yet, but it looks like the same deal according to your post. What's the deal here?
Try deleting user\appdata\local\ironclad\sins of a solar empire I had the same problem as you, but when I did that it finally worked. Figure it's worth a try :/
Okay, it wouldn't let me access that folder, but I DELETED it and it works! So to anyone out there, try the fix above and if all else fails, delete the folder AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire.

I as well verified the integrity of the crash. Still no dice. I can try installing it on a different computer, but I don't think that'll work any better than the reinstall. Where do I post the mini dump?
Yes, yes, I did all of that. I'm pretty sure it's a registration problem of some sort because that's when everything started to go wrong.
So I saw that Rebellion beta had released, and I immediately started downloading it. It finally finished, and I started it up, prompting the registration screen. I entered in my information and it said at first "Registration successful!" or whatever. However, then it popped up that it had failed. That's true; with the addition of the Titans and the other ships, they are probably spending a lot of time balancing to make sure these new things are not over/under powered and to make gameplay the best they can.
OK, to start this off, I am all for developers taking their time creating things. I vastly enjoy quality over quantity as I'm sure most people do. I pre-ordered Rebellion a long time ago, and it's almost been a year since they announced it. My question is, why is it taking this long?
