A friend of mine is somehow able to exploit this to expand very rapidly. He's stubborn and won't share his secret, and I was wondering if anyone else might be able to shed some light on the subject? We're playing the latest Rebellion beta.
I have the exact same problem. Can't finish a (longer) game, single player or MP without this happening. I'm unable to find a crash dump, as well. Nor am I able to find out what causes it. It seems completely random.
Strange... I ran the "dev" executable in the steam folder and found that that created a new settings file. I then deleted it and ran the regular game and now it's working correctly. A friend of mine was experiencing the same problem with his video settings not saving as well, so I think this may be some bug.
Every time I launch the rebellion beta, I have to re-configure all of my settings. I remember reading about a similar problem with sins trinity I believe, and it had something to do with the location of where the game save data is stored. I have since deleted the savegame data for rebellion (I think in two locations) hoping to resolve the issue, but now it doesn't even create new settings data at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice (within steam) to no avai
