No, I didn't even know I could save in the middle of a battle.

I've seen some weird behavior with the Temporal Shift ability where it moves the target to a point that is not on any path. In one instance it moved the ship that spawns Fallen Stars just off the edge of the screen where it spawned ships but couldn't move. My towers couldn't reach that spot and I had to abandon the mission. It seems to be pretty repeatable.
Just a thought on the value proposition and how I came to my perspective. For me, the gold standard Tower Defense game on Steam is Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows (a $10 game). It has close to 200 maps, a very rich leveling system, crafting system, and achievement system. Looking at my play time on that game I've gotten over 200 hours of play on it over the last couple of years. That was $10 well spent! I don't expect that much from every $10 game or TD game, but if SOC just has a couple mo
There is also a bug on the camera hijack. For example, on the new bonus map, the map shows your base and begins to rotate toward a true orientation. If you pause the game during this camera rotation then unpause, the map rotation doesn't restart, so you must play the map in a funky orientation.
For me. I played missions and stuff unlocked. I didn't really even understand the mechanics for quite a while. I certainly didn't sit back after the first mission and figure out how to min/max to totally optimize the gameplay. That said, someone who did figure it all out will publish a game guide and tell new players that after they finish mission 4 they should go back and do mission 1 again to raise their score. So I guess it is important to make sure the system works for playe
Having the map continue to scroll after I have moved the mouse away from the edge of the screen is one of the most annoying things I've seen in a game. Not that feel strongly about that or anything...
Bug: In one mission I overcharged a tower and then lost the mission. When I retried it, the beam for the overcharge was still on the map (the tower was gone).
rixmith: I like these. Although I find it curious that you mention not being able to see the whole map at once as a positive. That is something another person has already suggested we change to allow a strategic view similar to what is already in Escalation.
I had intended to simply comment that it was different, without making a judgment whether that difference was positive or negative. So far, my personal opinio
Could use a better indication on where exactly you can place towers
Very much agree with this. It is frustrating to have my tower show as blue (good to place), then click to place it, and it won't go. That really needs some attention.
In the current iteration here are the things that I see as different from other TD games I've played: Multiple defense points. You not only have to defend your base but also your metal generators. This seems to have some nice map creation options where you can have a large flow of metal at the start to help get the initial build done, but then threaten it later. It seems like being able to build/rebuild mines could be an option. Scavenger Modules: Needing to build these to har
A TD game where you can't pause and think about tower placement seems like it would be an exercise in frustration.
I have played the first seven missions and am enjoying it so far. But I do have some quirks to report: 1. Wave 5 was soooo much harder than any of the other missions so far. Probably needs to be toned down a bit. 2. Took me a long time to figure out where my base health indicator was. I expected a health bar to appear above the base to indicate damage. I clicked on the base to find it. Eventually found it in the lower left. 3. Tooltips are inconsistent. That was
A couple other great games are: Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows. An immense number of different maps. Tower are built by buying gems with different abilities and combining them to create varying affects. Path blocking provides a lot of strategy and spells and tower enhancements can change the battle when played well. A lot of complexity in the upgrade systems provides additional fun. Cursed Treasure: I've only played it as a Flash game, but I see there is now a Steam version. A bit
