Good times with vicious AI. in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

So my brother, myself and a friend or two have been playing Sins pretty aggressively for the last couple years, usually vs 6 unfair with sometimes a cruel thrown in. Hmm, there seems to be an issue with my custom ships.. in Galactic Civilizations Series Stardock Forums

For some reason every custom ship I build, regardless of size or weapons/armor I put on it builds as 8 kinetic 0 armor (in all ranges). It's really quite vexing, I've tried several new games (this is in campaign) and even reinstalled..
