Heh. Thanks for your replies! E-stab, you're right I didn't mean this as a whine. The game is my first 4x after the MOO3 debacle and boy does this game outshine any game in that series by a great deal! How come large planets seemingly without fail are shoddy planets special resources-wise ? I've never seen a single planet of 15+ capacity with even semi-decent amount resources. Am I extremely unlucky or is this some kind of Stardock balancing scheme? Secondly, I'm suprised the bug where the description of the terrain in the small window doesn't match that of the planet map (ie. you get an ocean where the map shows mountains) hasn't been era
That was an interesting read! I'm one of those struggling with the game and I'm sure I can put some of the advice to good use. As for initial strategy right off the bat; do you find purchasing ships and factories a viable tactic? I tend to go bankrupt real fast and never seem to get a surplus going fast enough.
