After reading 42 messages , It would appear , that most reformat and reinstall windows not because it is necessary , but because they like it !!!!! Kind of like taking a beating getting up and asking to do it again....

loaded this machine with xp pro 6mo prerelease still using same install...before that win 98 3 years...you skinners working in XP all GUI changes are stored in a file , in Documents and settings , and the folder titled from your log on , called ntuser.dat ....this file gets corrupt from all the changes and yous desktop does all kinds of crazy things or just plane goes black or locks up...I use a program by Roxio called Goback , it is like system restore in XP except you can restore all the down

Joe It may have other uses but what i wanted it for is the following...I load a desktop wallpaper , now i want to create a taskbar , coloring my Bitmaps using the colors from the new wallpaper......The eye-dropper tool will not select outside the graphic program window , you could bring in the wallpaper to the graphic window and use the eyedropper or you can sample the colors right off the desktop with colorpad and manualy enter the numbers into the graphic program...all you have to do i
