Crashes whenever there's a combat in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

Bought the game from Steam a while ago, it's the ultimate edition. I have a new laptop, so I re-installed it, but now whenever I play the game it always crash on me. And it's consistently always during combat. I tried for like 5 different games, and whenever a ship starts to shoot at something. Boom, the game crashes. Any idea why?
