Tried US-1 and US-2, unchecked "show pre-release versions" and Refreshed XML button. No joy. Guess I need to do a complete uninstall and then reinstall?? Well....waited a bit and retried. DA updated successfully. Heightmaps is still going. Always seems to take forever to remove the temporary files.....but there. Just finished.

not sure. It used to be for me to get the $$ cheat to work, I had to buy or complete my 1st colony ship. But in a new 1.1 game last nite, I tried the $$ cheast before the 1st colony ship and it worked.
I ran into a similar problem in a game (a couple of updates ago) where one of my TRANSPORTS hit an anomaly and triggered the dialog box saying that only vessels with a survey module was able to explore anomalies. It was not possible to remove the dialog by pressing the done-button, because it reappered instantly everytime. The only solution was to kill galciv from the task-manager. But haven't seen it since...

started last nite at 6pm, this morning its 35% complete! This is for a 100GB HD (49% full). Any defrag tools out there that are better/faster than what XP has? Thx.... p.s. I did boot to Safe mode b4 starting defrag.

just was playing a game where, yes I was cheating big BIG time, but ran into a bug/lockup where I think a transport hit an anomily and I could not break out of the "Only Survey Ships can explore anomilies..." screen.
Check the Library. There is a Sharlin Warcruiser (by Coplann) alreay available....
Look through the Library. I believe there are at least 2 Human female portraits you can add to your game files....
The ctrl-shift-M cheat also seems to increase influence...at least for me. I select neutral and then no for any gov't change and my influence areas grows.... hhhmmmm...actually sometimes influence changes without the Alignment screen coming up..must be some weird key combination....
had a problem with it working at first also, found it easier to cut and past then try to type it into the box.
