Reply to How many colonist to put in a colony ship and other colony/population questions in Strategies Stardock Forums

Is it possible to send additional colonists to your new colonies via some kind of transport method ala MOO1? For example, if I wanted to quickly colonize a planet and just send 100m colonists, there doesn't seem to be any other way of adding additional colonists - unless perhaps it's possible to build another colony ship and land it in the same planet? Even if this were possible, it doesn't seem ideal due to the cost involved.

If it's that easy to cheat (i.e. just hex edit a saved game), doesn't that kind of ruin the integrity of the Metaverse? It's probably impossible to keep it out entirely, but hopefully there are a few safeguards to minimize it. Cheating by itself I have no problem with, but when you're comparing scores with other players, that's a different story.

I'm sure this probably isn't a great idea as far as making gameplay "balanced" in terms of good vs. evil. But I think being evil should allow the player to have inherently more advantages then if you were being good. Being good usually translates to being bound to make ethically and morally sound decisions i.e. you aren't making decisions solely on the basis of maximizing your chance of winning at any cost; you're doing it while upholding certain principles and values, whereas you have

Yuri, if you want a Governor to ignore your requests and build queues and go off and do their own thing, which leaves you scratching your head as to why he/she just did that, simply pick up a copy of MOO3 :p

I went on a 2 week vacation to the Gold Coast area in Queensland last summer (and went on a few road trips around NSW) - and I will admit it took me about a day to get used to the speech LOL especially when I would be talking to more than one person at the same time. But I think I got the hang of it (more or less) after that. ;)

Arokh72: I'm not sure I understand how Australian english is so different from "normal" english? Aside from the Aussie expressions that other people might not be familiar with, well, it's english. As compared to Cantonese and Mandarin, for example, these dialects are sufficiently different from each other so that if you only knew one, you wouldn't be able to understand the other.

Just as an FYI... they do have Best Buy here in Canada now as well (there's one about 5 minutes from my house). I suspect that Future Shop will be carrying that title, despite the lack of information on their website. But if not, there's Best Buy too. Of course I won't be buying it via any of those methods, but straight to the source and just purchase/download a copy online :)
