Is the max number of trade routes displayed somewhere? TIA
GuildBoss
Thanks! And will there be mod'ing documention to go with it?
"Not sure on the N/A usually means the trade route is no longer available." It's odd because the trade route shows in the mini-map and it's definitely listed but when I click the listing all the fields are empty. Bug? "If you see 3 trade routes on the mini map and two routes at the top. Another civ sent a feighter to one of your worlds i.e. They established the trade route not you." Gotcha. Thanks!
I'm a bit confused with the Trade screen. First, there's a mini-map showing the actual routes but the lines seem to change color. Why? WHat do the colors represent? Second, the list of trade routes at the top doesn't always give any data when clicked. FOr instance, I'll sometimes get "N/A" or blank fields in the route details area. Third, some routes don't show in the list at all. For example, I have 3 routes in my current game but only two of them are listed. <br
There is no documentation yet. I've looked...
Sector Sweep bug. Ship doesn't go around system. I had a ship set to Sector Sweep but when a system was in its path it stopped and sat there forever, rather than attempting to go around it to resume the sweep.
"Have you registred a metaverse player? (link on top of the metaverse-page)" OMG, I'm an idiot. I assumed by registering with Stardock.com/Galciv.com I was all set... Looks like that's what I need to do. Just have to wait to get home from work to dig up my serial #. :notsure: Thanks!
I'm trying to join an Empire in the Metaverse but I'm not showing up on the list despite the "You've joined x successfully!" message after clicking "Join". I've tried logging off, quitting, loggin on, removing cookies, etc. but all to no avail. Any ideas? TIA
Thanks Frog but I have one question RE: Metaverse. I've joined an empire today but my name isn't listed on the Empire's page. I've logged off, quit the empire, relogged back in, and joined and still doesn't work. Any ideas?
Aye, some editing info would be great.
Excellent! Thanks for the effort. What about errata? For instance, the manual still has Universalists listed as a government... :( Any plans to fix such things or perhaps add an addendum?
Ouch. I didn't build the freighters, I got them as part of a trade. :sniff!:
I got some freighters from a trade and I'm wondering what happens if I send them off to create trade route with a friendly civ, what exactly will be the "Source" system? When the freighter is handed over to me does its "home" system change to one of mine? Or do I have to run it back to one of my systems and *then* send it off to its "target" system? TIA
My suggestion is a "De-Orbit" button/option on the GNN notification window which would then de-orbit the newly built craft. This might be more efficient than, say, a global, automatic "de-orbit" option since there will be times you'll want a specific ship to stay in orbit for defense purposes. --------------- Also, a forum suggestion: How about an icon flag that indicates a thread has some "official" Stardock reply within, like from Brad or whomever. If you've ev
There's some discussion about automatically de-orbiting newly built ships in comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic newsgroup. My suggestion is a "De-Orbit" button/option on the GNN notification window when the ship is built that you could click. This might be more efficient than, say, a global, automatic "de-orbit" option since there will be times you'll want a specific ship to stay in orbit for defense purposes.
First off, what happened to the "Sticky" flag icon? I don't see them anymore? Secondly, how about an icon flag that indicates a thread has some "official" Stardock reply within, like from Brad or whomever. If you've ever been to Bioware's NWN forums you'll know how handy that can be when searching for official info without having to wade through hundreds of useless crud. :notsure:
Aye, Autopilot confused me for a while since I could still click a ship and move it manually even while it was flagged as "Autopilot" but the Find (ie next unit) button does not go to ships on autopilot. Threw me off for a couple hours until i realized the autopilot ships don't move along their routes until you end your turn. :notsure:
"But this takes away from game play time Look for something during the next week or two. Have fun playing the game as is. Surely it has not lost its replay value yet" I can't play games at work, Java! :( But editing text files is something I *can* do without raising any eyebrows... hehe
Is there a document explaining what the variables/values do/mean? TIA
"From what I have read so far it sounds like people are saying, 'it is basically ok, no glaring errors, nothing really special, if you want to play some kind of space game I guess you'll like it.'" Keep reading. You'll find much more positive reviews than that. I have, at least. Even so, if you're that concerned then you might want to wait for the demo.
"Talking 'bout the good ole' days, how about the Spectrum 48k? Anyone else have one of those? " 48K? That was a super-computer compared to my Atari 400 with a whopping 16K.
"I just turned 29 this month! I am still young! (In my twenties)" Haha! Yeah, that's what I said...7 years ago! :sniff!:
It looks like he was making peace in the screenshot.
Brad, in your gameplay example #5 you make peace with the Altarians while your ally (Drengin) is still at war with them. You wrote: "Okay, I admit, I'm a little bit lame. The Altarians are down for the count but I really can't deal with them right now. The Drengin won't care about this as long as they don't need my help." So there's no political backlash in making peace with a mutual enemy as long as your ally seems to have the war reasonably well in hand? Does it matter who in
