I do hope you're being sarcastic =P
Exodious
err. I missed a word. the -multiple- trade good (and possibly galactic wonder) problem is still present.
I think it's been mentioned, but the trade good (maybe for galactic wonder too? not sure on that one) is still present. Guh, those silly other empires thinking they can ruin my monopoly... I'll crush them good!
Oh jeeze. I had forgotten that you're working on a bunch of other products at the same time as galciv. Absolutely amazing that you can be so involved in the forums and still have time for everything else. I hope you take nice long vacations or something. Err.. wait what am I saying? Vacation time means less galciv time. Quick, somebody chain him to his desk j/k LOL
What about some sort of SuperHuman? I swear the man never sleeps. Heh, is insomnia common among game developers? ;)
I think Brad is secretly a Yor or some other cybernetic being. It's obvious that he doesn't sleep, and can multitask very well... fixing bugs, adding new features, respond to some *cough* inaccurate reviews, and still have time to say "Groovy" on the forums =)
Well, I thought Brad defended himself quite intelligently. It's obvious that the Rich couldn't back up what he said, and instead chose to fight everything that we idiot readers keep thinking he said (sigh). I'm glad that there was the savegame transaction to prove them wrong =). I'm sure I'm guilty of some "fanboy" bias, but I'm a bit urked by anyone who says that the galciv AI isn't any good.
Saw it on /.
Wow, that's interesting. I had noticed something in a recent game.. I was using the "sneaky" (ok, dirty) strategy of attacking, taking a few systems, offering peace for large amounts of tribute per turn, rinse, repeat. I figured I'd be bankrupting the AI, but it turned out that they were continually able to meet my demands. Then I noticed that their treasury was continually increasing. It seemed odd that they had like 46000bc with one planet left. But if tribute amount
Not sure if it's been submitted (there's no search function for the forums!), but when you're at the sector map (normal gameplay view) and press the sector map button, the domestic policy button's "press" animation goes off. It doesn't bring up the domestic policy screen or anything like that, but it's a minor graphical glitch.
Heh, chill out dude. I know SDCentral has some problems, but they've mainly been fixed now. I don't think a "Death to Stardock" post is going to get you anywhere. This is honestly the most customer oriented software company I've dealt with in a long while. If you'd ASK them or say, look through the forums or look at the documentation, then I think you'd find answers to all your problems. You shouldn't jump to a "stardock sux! I hate them! blah!" post. By the way, I'm pretty sure MOO cam
Oh, one thing to consider when trying to improve morale.. decreasing the population a bit helps. Try going to war =) Load up some transports and get fightin', or start colonizing more or something. I'm not sure of the exact max population that there can be for a certain class planet. Trial by error I guess.
It's a per planet thing. Go to a planet that's having morale problems, and hit the details button. There's a propaganda slider in there
Hmm, there's now a 1.01a.032. Does the windowed version include those fixes? =) Too bad you can't incorporate windowed support into the main exe or something. Then activate a windowed version by running it with -windowed or something like that. But you guys have probably already looked into that stuff
Hooray! :D I tend to prefer playing in the windowed version when I'm talking to people via AIM, IRC, whatever.
Frogboy, Is the windowed version being updated to the latest version?
Gah! Don't take out the tribute / turn feature... I do a lot of trades where I get some amount for the next year as a way to bolster my economy :notsure:
For those that it's saying you need to download 85meg, does SDCentral think your game is installed? If it doesn't, then you need to fix a string in your registry. See my post above about that (#33).
YES! Metaverse submitting is fixed!
Hooray! 1.01a.031 is on SDCentral now. Just downloaded it, installed fine.. now to see if I can finally submit to the metaverse
Oh, one more thing. If the Path setting needs fixing, don't put an ending \
myomer, there's probably an issue in your registry. I had a similar thing happen when I restored from an archive. There's a string, "Exe", that references the galciv.exe. When it happened to me (SDCentral not thinking it was installed) that setting got cleared. If you have any experience with regedit, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\GalCiv In there, there's the Exe string. If it's blank, change it to "galciv.exe" (w/o quotes). There's also a
So is a new 1.01A being released today? Is it already released? I did manage to install 1.01a.030 last night, and I don't see anything new on there now, so I'm hoping that the new 1.01A isn't out yet.
Well, my game is patched to the new version now. I re-registered (again) in the metaverse and tried to submit my last game.. still no luck in that department.
Doh! I guess when I re-installed SDCentral it cleared my serial. NOW I see the update. I feel dumb. Heh.
