@CariElf: So If I have added a cheat-marked Metaverse Score, I don't see a chance to delete that one game score from my players score, because there is only an option to delete _all_ scores of a player. Am I right here or did I oversee the possibility to delete one given score? @all: The discussion about using a BETA and complaining if it doesn't work: Nobody should complain about a beta game crashing, bugs etc. But a cheat-marked character for all your games, that is

OK, there will be no tactical combat in GC2 Stardock says. Period. Would have loved to have some easy things like conditional (e.g. Retreat after 50% casualities) or immediately (at minimal) RETREAT before the battle begins. Rule: nonretreater has one shoot at retreater before retreat happens. This is something that shouldn't be to complicated to train the AI to use itself.
I encountered that unarmed ship thing many times. Even when the AI has a fleet flying around with attack value 3 per ship it still build unarmed ships for defense. That makes no sense, because putting in some weapons is not so much more expensive. I saw that in the first and second campaign mission on normal and tough several times. Also now in a metaverse game on a small map on tough in a war against the Yor. I see the usefulness of an unarmed "invasion-preventer", but the AI uses the feat
Got that Processing-Data-Forever thing Tried it with IE, don't know if it is the actual version, but sounds not so bad (6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519). No chance. Tried Firefox 1.0.6 and 1.0.7. No chance. Upgraded to Firefox 1.5.0.1. WORKS! So get latest FIREFOX and you are fine.

Sorry andrew_, I encounter that Processing-Data-forever-Problem. I think you posted to use IE or latest Firefox. If that does not help clear Cookies and cached Data in IE. I tried all this, it doesn't help. Question: I bought the game via "Download + Retail CD". I got an E-mail quickly with one serial number. But I couldn't download the game for more than a week (ticket ID: XCB-939464). Finally the problem was solved (a account merger has to
Can create whether a character nor an empire whether in firefox 1.0.6 nor in IE. Deleted all Cookies and cached data in IE. ???
Wait for Wednesday. That was the day when my support ticket at stardock was answered. In my case Derek B. He helped me only on Wednesdays. Don't know if he is the only parttime support guy. But for me - whether by coincidence or not - Wednesday was the golden day. Look at my thread https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=110280 and maybe the links inside will help you. (My problem was another than yours, but they suggested me a solution that sounds l
My account is fixed now. Stardock only needet 8 working days for that. My fault was - while I used the same email address in every account - that I changed the recipient of the gc2-CD (from my last buy gc1). They never told you, that you can't do that without getting in trouble (and why should somebody?). Bad database setup, if you asked me. Anyway, finally, I can download. Thanx Stardock
Finally... thanx, Stardock for your help. Still can't understand the problem anyway. All you asked for is using the same emailadress on any account, which I have. Why can't I make you sent the CD to another address, because I'm almost never home (without getting in trouble and waiting for 7 workdays)? Bad Database Setup, if you asked me. OK, gc1 is/was a great game and I'm sure gc2 will be too (seen it at a friend).
Update (look posts above): Waiting for six work days now. My s/n is still not on my account. I'm speechless. HELP
@xko: You say you had a problem. Is that problem solved now? And how long did it take?
Hi, I bought the game on 20.03.06 online at https://store.stardock.com/order.asp as "Download + Retail CD". Used my existing account because I bought GC1 years ago. My email address is the same in all accounts. Can't download gc2 via sdc: Could not register, says email address does not match our records. Using the same email address with GC1 s/n works fine. Started a support call Ticket ID: XCB-939464 Got two hints from S
I quote a part of the head of this thread: Account Problems If you used a different email address to purchase the game direct than what you used to create an account here, Stardock Central may get confused. If that happens, email [email protected] with the subject "GalCiv Account Issue" and they'll take care of you. If you receive no response within 1 hour, post here and someone from Stardock will likely see it and take care of you here.<
Now they asked me to fill in my s/n via the page https://www.galciv2.com/registration.aspx. This form looks like the registration for games purchased in store. They still don't seem to understand that I bought the game ONLINE. So of course that didn't work again. They have do add my gc2 serial number that I received via mail to my account, that all if you asked me, but seems to be very difficult (maybe they think, I didn't buy the game and want to "sne
Here is my struggle with stardock/galcivII support, just put my "support email history" here: ME: Hi, have bought the game gcII with [email protected]. Got s/n XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Could not register, says "email address does not match our records". Using the same email address with GC1 s/n XX-XXXXXX-XXX-XXXXXXXXXX works great. ??? Support answer: Our publisher for Europe Galactic Civilizations II releases
I have no knowledge of one of my scores being deleted or manually adjusted by someone. But I think we agree, that something is wrong here somehow? Can't really understand the problem, its just an easy SQL or maybe SQLplus-Database recalculation based on a simple formula.
I understand, that Metaverse Score (s) is sum of points (p) devided by sqrt of number of games (g): s=p/sqrt(g) My points (p) are 1925 with 7 games (g). This is 727,57. But my Metaverse Score says: 966,3 But I tried a bunch of scores of players and most times the score is correct according to the formula. But for Andrew Chai and Ralph Crosswhite, the Metaverse Leaders, it's also too high. Is something wrong with the formula or did I miss something?
Malleus: I have to disagree. I am actually bulding a wonder, maybe 12 turns left. AI finishes it. It disappears , is not anymore the actual project, is not chooseable anymore, social is empty, invested production gone forever. But I have to agree, this happens not to every wonder and not to trade good.
jaustin1: Ok, maybe its a split problem: I have definetively seen a wonder disappearing from my queue after the ai finishes it. But maybe thats not true for all wonders and/or its not true for the ai civs...
You should decide that dependent to the planet you want to colonize. Dont sent more than 50-100 to a 12,13,14 planet. Increase that amount quite drasticly. maybe 2000 to an 19 or 20 planet. Colonize a planet in same system: Move ship out, then in again, select a planet - or - if you come from outside - move in and select a planet. It is as easy as described.
When the AI has build a wonder, it disappears from my build queue immediately (v1.02). Cant see a bug here. Another story are the trade goods, you can finish them after another civ had built them. Would be nice to have an galaxy wonder/trade good progress screen which says: Hey, the Altarian are building Eye of the Universe. They have finished 23%. If they go on spending money on it like the turns before, it will be finished in 20 turns (etf). Its annoying to see an ai opponent finishing a wonde
The Autolauch is great, really great, besides for colony ships / transports. The Autolaunch loads - i think - automatically half the systems population. No problem for transport, just click them back to system and then reload them with the amount you want. But colony ships ... No chance for reloading, because ship will be gone :-(. Can't there be a Autolaunch that asks you for the amount of people to be loaded? Or an Autolauch for all ships besides colony/transport ships? By the way - while
Somehow I have the same problem as Russell. The point is, that my economic sucks in every game. All my money get paid for maintenance, couldn't raise taxes because people are unhappy, no money left for building things, researching. Yes I build improvements for morale, econimic, doesnt help in the end. I won one game via "cheating": Giving techs away for 1 to 7 bc for 1111111111111111111 turns. That means unlimited turns and thererfore stabile tribute for a complete game (cumulates to over 200 bc
