I haven't read the manual, so my apologies if that makes it clear. Also, while I'm on the forum, I've just switched to the beta expansion patch and it seems I can no longer win on "simple" level. I haven't played very much, but all my recent games have been at simple level, and I won easily. Since I started using the beta expansion patch I'm losing by a mile, with no real prospect of turning it around. Very strange, because I really do know how to beat the game on simple (after all, it'

I want to install this game to my laptop, so I can play it when away from home. I don't have the CD - everything has been done via download. Is it possible to do what I want to do by downloading files to my desktop, then copying files to a CD, then installing from the CD to my laptop? Or do I have to download everything directly to my laptop (unfortunately not practical, owing to 56k laptop connection)? If it is possible to do it the way I want, then what do I have to do? Thank

Hmmm, I'm a bit surprised by the AI in this game. I chose the "fool" setting because I thought it meant that I could win without having to pay any attention to the computer players. Now I find all but one are allied against me and attacking incessantly. Be interesting to see if it actually beats me.

Only on my second game. This one in a small galaxy with everyone (including me) set as fools. At one point there is a prison escape resulting in the creation of 3 ships that are at least 10 times more powerful than any other ship that anyone else can make. They wipe out all the starbases, all the trade fleets, and all the military of everyone else.
