Thanks for the logical answer gbuchold, that's all I needed. As for the $5 mouse, I am aware of the product, but my lovely wife has used the same keyboard with a built in touchpad for over seven years now and the damn thing won't break! (And yes, I've tried the old Coke + Keyboard = New Keyboard and Mouse. Let's just say she's unusually handy at fixing things.) Therefore, for the sake of harmony in my life, I use the touchpad when I'm at home, whic

Just a note from those of us without middle mouse buttons or wheels. According to the tutorial, the + and - are supposed to zoom the tactical map. They only seem to work on the strategic map in the corner. You have a dial next to it to set it's zoom rate, could you please tell me how to get the zoom on to my main map. You guys did such a beautiful job with it, I hate not being able to take it all in. Thanks in advance for your reply.
Well, if you must know, my wife is the one who loves the mousepad so much. I'm used to all kinds of rigs from work, but this is the only computer she has used in the last seven years, and the mousepad is her baby. Therefore, for harmony's sake, I beg you to come up with a fix for this minor annoyance. With this as the only exception so far, the game is a masterpiece! And you guys could not be a more shining example of the way a corporation sh
Well, I have other mouses (mice? whatever). But I like my touchpad. I have grown accustomed to it for the last seven years and I use it for everything else. Not being a programmer, it seems like such a simple fix, I would hope that I don't need to change my entire PC setup for this one problem.
Yeah, hopefully they can assign hotkeys for the arrows. The both buttons together just won't do it. I bought the original GalCiv and I know these guys are top notch, so it's only a matter of time til they fix the problem. Unless it's already fixed and I just don't know the answer. Hope I get a reply soon though. I love the game, just feel a little myopic staring at it in such a close up frame. It's freaking me out! <img src="http://images.stardo
I have a worse problem. I use an ancient touchpad I've grown to love built into my keyboard. It has neither a middle mouse button, nor a wheel. Have no idea how to zoom in and out. Hoping to find a simple fix.
Just wondering, I use a touchpad and have no middle mouse button or wheel. Is there a hotkey or shortcut assignment I can make to zoom in and out of tactical? I know the number keys give me different views, but something between #4 and #5 would be perfect for me. Great game, thanks.
I am having a combat problem. Whenever attacked by the AI, the game goes into extremely slow motion. Taking up to five minutes to resolve the first shot. Strangely, I can hit the windows menu button on my keyboard and the action resolves itself instantly. But I have to step out to desktop and click back in to the game to get around it. Any suggestions?
My only combat so far has been with space sharks. They fire and the game freezes. It moves along at an incredibly slow rate, taking about four minutes to finish the shot. However, if I hit my windows button on my keyboard, the action goes back to normal speed and by the time I click back to GalCiv from my desktop, the action is over. What can I do?
Great game, but two things. -One,I've downloaded Stardock and registered GalCiv but how do I know if it's updated. I don't see a release number anywhere on the game screen. -And Two, The music is great and the intro plays fine, but during the cutscenes and if I run the Credits the sound skips every 5-10 seconds. No big deal but annoying since they are such great scenes. I have had this problem on a few games, and almost all from Strategy First. I have the latest Bink&Smacker and Soun
