I really enjoy playing Gal Civ. At least in the twenty to thirty minute increments between crashes to the desktop. I have the retail version of the game, Windows XP, Sound Blaster Live sound card (about 2 years old), 1 gig of RAM, a Nvidia GeForce 2 Pro 64mb graphics card and DirectX9,... In version 1.01 I experienced crashes, and now with 1.02 I am still experiencing crashes. Has this problem been reported by others, and if so what can I do to fix it. I have the latest drivers for all

Right about now I am wondering why I keep experiencing crashes during the game. This happened with the 1st patch and bonus pak and now is still happening with the new 1.02 version, (which by the way, I am appreciative for) but the game experience is nullified when I can't play it for more than twenty minutes before experiencing a crash to the desktop. I have DirectX9, I have the latest SoundBlaster drivers, 1 gig of RAM, ... don't know what else to do... Anyone have any advice? Starjamm
Hey Frogboy, When can we see a "patch" available in the download section at www.galciv.com? I know there are others like me who have had problems with the StarDock route, and have decided to hold out for a patch. Thanks for your hard work! Starjammer
#2 - To be frank, I'm just a little confused on how I can update to 1.01a, I downloaded the Bonus Pack directly and burnt it on disk, then installed onto my PC and Notebook, so both could be upgraded... #3 - It is a SoundBlaster Live! 64mb card. (Thanks guys for the responses by the way...) Starjammer
Hey Frogboy, My first questions is: Will there be a patch that specifically focuses on correcting the game crashes that I experience (along with many others, from what i've read) after 25-30 turns? Just kinda disappointed, the game seems unfinished in a way... Starjammer
