The AI isnt cheating... it's just smarter than you. I can (and have) force my economy to perform a sort of "rubberband" effect. Try it some time... drop all production sliders to 0 and see what happens to your cash intake. Once those cash levels = 10k or so, put all production back up... Had you considered that being the Drengin, they could have taxed to the point of having 10% approval, set government expenditures to 50% and dropped all production? This could EASILY pick up 2k+ in one

I disagree with the capping of bases and/or the nerfing of stacked modules. Quite frankely, in a single player game like this there is no reason to nerf it. If you think the "strategy" is twinkish or cheesey then just dont use it. By capping it to suit your needs you may be hobbling others that have devised uses that have not been posted to these forums. As well, the AI (as mentioned earlier) will be updated, these "startegies" could be incorporated into the overall AI thinking.

Question.. when you look at my metaverse profile it shows four games completed with a total score of 1881. However, if you add up the actual scores of those completed games you get a total of 3761. Maybe I'm missing something here... Any ideas?

The I-League can (quickly) become a major power. I havent seen this type of aggresive behavior from the other minor civs. I take this to be because the I-League isnt a race as such, but more of a conglomerate of all the disillusioned races in the game.

Yeah, definitely overpopulation. When you take over a system, all the troops from the invasion are now citizens. Last time I invade with 20billion troops :notsure: After invading I now set to build transport and get those excess troops outta the system.

Much better!! What is your tech situation like right now, are you leading?? Personally I would forgoe the use of rangers and pheonixs and focus on battleships and dreadnaughts if I were in your position. As well, dump as much of those 74bc/trn you are generating into destabilizing the Torians. (Disclaimer: I've had moderate luck with destabilization.. your results may vary) Honestly, at this point, lower your production ratings on social structures and pump up your tech spending while

I usually choose Federalists for my party and then dump points into research and trade. First Step - Set production values to 40% for millitary and research, 20% for social. Immediately purchase a colony ship on Earth and then set earth to produce colony ships for the next few turns. Keep tax at 33-35% and spending at 50%. Now push those colonies, expanding using the method Lord Beefy explained (rush to the edges then backfill) Each new planet you colonize should begin work on a colony

Thanks Fogia, I'll give that a shot. This particular game in general has been a strange one. Two of the minor races are far more powerful than any of the elder races. The I-League has me matched in almost every category. They must bow before my will!!

So I'm playing on a huge map and all the elder races are firmly dominated by me in all areas. Hwoever, the I-League is causing me no end of trouble. Thats ok, I just developed dreadnaughts so they will soon be relegated to the annals of history. Heres my problem, I attack a forward system and invade. I land about 10billion troops on the planet and clean the place up. Immediately I purchase the two existing morale boosting social structures available, as well I build a cultural starbase

There absolutely is a need to specialize. Lets see you cripple that production base before I can get another constructor in position to recover any loses. A key element to defense is to distribute the targets of opportunity. If I only have a single starbase in that position and the I-League drops into town with a few battleships, there is a chance that I will lose control of that resource. However, if I multiple bases in place around that resource I can soften the blow. As well

From what I can tell in the documentation it is only while in that sector that the trade value increases. I say this in reference to the manual that points out that some trade oriented races will build starbases in every sector along the path of a specific trade route. (I cannot/have not verified the accuracy of this claim...)

Resources are a key element to success as Horatio has pointed out. Find them, grab them and defend them at all costs. In my current game I have the only existing resource (that I know of) under tight control. Fully loaded production starbase is surrounded by three (offensive, defensive, and trade) ancillary starbases. You should see what the League of Planets is throwing at me trying to recover that single resource. I absolutely love this game, havent had the "one more turn" feeling si
