I swear I cannot win this tutorial. My last game. I bought out two of my rivals, but the last one bought me out. We were neck in neck on stock prices. I believe they had the advantage with the rocket which likely allowed them to rack in the cash to buy me out. It was certainly a intense game. While I appreciate that the AI is tough (or I really suck [e digicons]:D[/e] ), it might be good to made the scientific tutorial a bit easier. [e digicons]:D[/e] &

I just received my Steam key for the Founders prototype test, game looks great. :) There is a link to the private forums, but it's giving me the access denied message. Do I need to be added manually or did something go wrong? Thanks

It's a lot of fun. The AI is still not that bright, but the smaller maps seems to help a bit. The DLC seems insane priced, but you don't need it since they are releasing an editor. One could make all that crap if they really wanted too.

I got some more playtime in. I still don't see any issue with the UI. Maybe it's me I have been playing some late 80's early 90's games lately, but Eador seems very straightforward to me. I have found a nasty bug when attacking your own guards. I have some robbers as guards for one of my cities. That city seems to go into rebel every turn, so I decided it's time to replace the robbers. Well attacking them causes all kinds of issues. First my guys dont show on the c

My first impressions are good. I never played the beta, so have no clue about the UI for it. I have no issues with any of the UI in the release version. Everything looks straightforward to me. There few glitches here and there, but no show stoppers yet.
Steam just forced Skyrim's latest patch on me and wrecked my current save game. That just re-enforces my resolve to never buy another single player game that requires Steam.
That is a good point and I agree with you. I prefer a popup box telling me if a patch is available for install. Most games I don't worry about it, but Skyrim I do (got the patch yesterday). I have a ton of mods installed; very easy for things to go wrong.<
So I will have to use the Steam-client to be able to play? Damn. Well, thanks for the answer. It seems I won't be playing LH after all. I tried Steam before, but I had so many problems with the client, that I'm not willing to put up with it anymore.
I recommend you give Steam another go. They constantly update the client. I been running the beta version for months now with zero issues.
Is Steam only necessary for installing and patching LH, or will I have to run Steam to be able to play LH, too?
It works the same as any other game on Steam using Steamworks. As long as you login online once off-line mode will work when your outside of internet range barring any Steam hiccups. Thanks Stardock, game looks great!!
What's so special with this game compared to Skyrim, Torchlight II and others where you run around in a big world?
For me it's because the game is more or less a new Ultima game. I played Utlima 2 back in 1982 and 4,5,6 as they were released, 7, 8, 9, and UO years after release. At the time they were the best rpg I had ever played. I am hoping to recapture that feeling with this game. That said Skyrim

Where did you read that from? I have yet to see anything about micro-transactions. During the live video chat today they only mentioned the 5 chapters i.e. expansions. I tried to ask about DLC, but the chat was scrolling too fast. I'm good with DLC. I don't think they'll skimp on the single player, but I do expect they will fully develop the multiplay. At least it's not another MMO. :)

Richard Garriott announced his new game yesterday. Shroud of The Avatar, I like what I see, single player with multiplayer, but not a MMO. This is the first Kickstarter game I have ever supported and really only because I loved the old Ultima(s), Ultima 4 being my favorite. I hope he applies his Ultima magic to this game and it doesn't turn out to be crap like some of those more recent games he has worked on.

I have no choice but to do an upgrade because the Windows 8 setup does not offer to let me save the file so I can burn it to a disk. I would love to do a clean install.
It looks rather simplistic, but that doesnt have to be a bad thing. The video shows turnbased combat which I like, but no empire management, which makes me wary.
Your correct the video does not show empire management, but it is there. Colonies can be developed. There are empire wide policies, research, etc...
