What was the size of the galciv_setup.exe file? I'm wondering that maybe you didn't get the full file or maybe the download was corrupted. You and I have pratically the exact same computer hardware and software OS so I dont see any problems there.....

I always make sure that I have some form of tribute coming in. It looks like your the Tech's so it shouldn't be too much of an issue to stay ahead of the game on Research. Trade a nice technology for some tribute. Your approval rating is a bit high, bump up your Tax rate to around 30 - 32 percent. The tribute is really want you want to go for though. There's two ways that I know of to speak w/ the minors 1) In the diplomacy screen you will see the picture of the minor race on the left hand side of the screen. Above that picture you will see two 'arrows' and you can switch between the other races. 2) After you select the minor race planet that you want to chat with then on the upper right hand corner of the game screen you will see a 'Speak To' button that you can select.
here's two email addresses for you.... [email protected] [email protected]
Hey, I'm not trashing you or anything but a little bit more info would help. :) You can email your debug.err file to the support team. If you use the default installation the file is located in C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Galactic Civilizations. Good luck! :)

The funniest message I've read so far was the reference to Star Wars when your in the diplomacy screen and you take a look at how the other race views you (and only if your very powerful it says this...) Let me put it this way, if you say "These are not the driods your looking for." Then they will just repeat what you said. LOL I can't wait to run by more stuff like this. Makes the game even more enjoyable!
