i think that when you set alignments at the start of the game, that only effects the alignment they start off with...but i dont know
Legal_My_Deagle
they ARE doing a good job of fighting piracy, but i think the only reason they have been so successful is this game isnt as popular as other games, hence it doesnt recieve very much attention from piraters and stuff...
i had a similar problem once too, i just hit the FIND button and it made the clock go away...i think the bug is that the clock doesnt go away, even though its done...
i dont know if this has been suggested before, but make it so you can SAVE governer settings from game to game. this way we wouldnt keep having to add new social projects every time we get a tech giving us one =]
ive had similar things happen =/
sorry for the *bump*
i think it lowers the alien civ's morale, so they are more likely to defect - but whether or not they defect to YOUR side is a whole different story ;)
dont mean to whine, but you guys are making me want this patch sooooooo much...i love changes...im a patch freak...could somebody pleeeeeeeeeease send it to me? id be happy to send something in return lol...stupid thing wont let me get the patch...
when you get a bonus for your espionage ability, does this also improve your destabalization ability? such as if you pick the mercantile party, you get a +20 espionage bonus...i was wondering if that counts for destabalization too
woohoo!!! except i cant get the patch... would somebody be willing to send it to me via AIM? im Legal My Deagle same as my name on here, only no _'s ill be your friend!!! ;)
noooooooooooooooooooooooo actually ive found one way to steal a tech is to conquer one of another races's star systems =P
i thought it was from espionage, so ive been pumping money in to spying on the alterians, which i know have about 6 techs i dont have. i keep getting more messages about what they are doing, but how to steal techs? is it from destabalizing?
The Simarillion i think is how its spelled. this isnt really a easter egg, but i like that one tech thats almost at the end of the tree, that makes fun of britney spears ;)
from my understanding, if you are good, you get the special diplomatic type techs. if you are evil, you get special military type techs. if you are neutral, you wouldnt get any of these techs, correct? so what is the advantage of being neutral???
forget about my bug, i figured out what made it go crazy =P
what do you use to defend really late in to the game? like when avatars and overlords and such are flying around?
im wondering because after the begining of the tech tree, it doesnt really look as if there is a designated defending starship... you get the defender, then move up to the battleaxe, but then what do you defend with after that? every starship ive seen after battleaxe has a higher attacking value than a defense value, so i assume they arent supposed to be defending...
oh i see...well at least the first thing i said is still worth something =P
doh!!! just saw this thread. here is what i posted in a different topic just now. or at least im 99.99% sure its a bug what happened is that now im pretty late in the game, in fact the only reason i let the game last this long is so i can research the entire tech tree. DAMN its taking forever. anyway, im at a point now where all a sudden my money fluctuates very strangly. like one turn, ill have in between -500 and 500. next turn, about -1000. next turn, about -1500. then it w
oh, and i forgot to mention, that when i tried to go to government spending to try and get an explanation for this problem, sliding the bar back and forth no longer has any effect, and the number doesnt change. also ive gone through probably 3 or 4 economic booms so far, and nothing changes.

lol, nobody could penatrate your fortress of solitude =D
lol well tell me what you guys do then if you cant give a clear answer =P i realize it would be a little different for each star system, depending how close it was to a potentially hostile race and stuff...im just asking for a generalization
ohhh ya thats true, with the morale change in the new patch, it makes it possible to raise taxes without your people hating you =P or at least for a noobie like me ;)
k i feel stupid for not finding that now, but thanks =P btw, it looks awesome =D
