Excellent work - to both of you! Thanks!

DOH! Just finished a game that took probably 18+ hours, and when I click on the social stats at the end - CRASH. Reproducable. Running latest update via Stardock. Frogboy - if you want me to ZIP it up and send it to you pop me an EMail.
That's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure :-P Thanks much!
If I build a starbase on a resource, is it universal (the benefits from the resource), or only to the sector? Just want to make sure...
I think you guys misunderstood, I quit that particular game and started a new one. The Yor and I-League were about to annihilate the 2 remaining empires, so the 'use the other guy' techniques wouldn't do much, since my ships could never stand up to the enemy. The problem was early in the game, my income/expenditures was messed up big time - I could only do 25% taxes and 10-15% government expenditures. This allowed my civ to fall WAY behind. The game I'm playing now, I
It was a single combat transport using traditional warfare - that's why the #'s made no sense, because based on the info it provided, we should have won... (I tried the scenario many times - always failed).
I think the max was Avatar killer. Regardless, I had to quit the game - there was no way in hell I could win. The empire teamed up with the most powerful 'group' in the game, which was the I-League, so I could never use espionage, etc. Overall, I experienced massively strange behavior during the game. One moment I'd have great income, the next I was in the hole -1000bcs a turn. I teamed up with 2 other empires to try and defeat the main empire, and even after giving them eve
I did a check and they have 150% weapons/defense, and many other mods - WAY higher than mine. But I still think there's a serious issue when a single dreadnaught can take out a maxed defense starbase. That's just very unrealistic...
Oh, and the dreadnaught had 32/91 hits when it attacked. After it destroyed my maxed starbase of 130/130 hits, it had 25/91 hits. Ummm... WTF?
Well this is BS - ONE of their dreadnaughts just took out a MAXED starbase (defense) without being destroyed. I mean, what the hell? This needs to be looked into. My game is pretty much over, and there's no good reason for it... These guys are annihilating me like I'm nothing... Not too happy - especially since I don't understand it...
I'm very confused. I'm playing a large game, and the Yor empire has these Dreadnaughts that are 91/30/19 in strength. My Avatar (the next capital ship) is 78/25/16, and it's built at a planet with everything maxed. Hell, my Dreadnaughts are 65/34/14. Avatars don't seem to be much more than Dreadnaughts... What on earth am I missing here? These guys are annihilating me...
Attacker: Off/Def/Tech: 3/3/1 Defender: 5/5/1.05 Attacker #: 5 bill Defender #: 5.1 bill Attacker always wins... What am I missing here?
Right now, the I-League is the most powerful empire out there, but they are a minor race. Is it by design that I can't destabilize or espionage them? I think this needs to be addressed - one should be able to destabilize and espionage minor races - especially with how poweful they can get :)
How on earth does the I-League have planets with 66000 ppl and 100 morale and pumping out money like mad? If I raise my taxes, many of my planets morale falls into the 30's...
How can you determine the max/best amount you can get from a tech? Do you just have to try again and again and again? Also, how can I keep my morale 50%+ and still be able to raise my taxes >20%?
Well, I can't put anything more than 15-20% into my government spending with 18 star systems and 350 billion ppl. Doesn't seem to make sense to me... I never saw a UP resolution about celebration. JavaScout's fansite? You have a link? Thanks!
Oh, the destabilization is towards the one sub-empire that's at war with me - surprisingly the most powerful empire in the game with only 7-8 planets (one has almost 70000 ppl!!! hehe) Even if I get rid of destabilization, that 319 is eaten up in less than 5% of spending if I recall...
I played my first Huge game, and am still playing it, but am having a nasty problem. First, I have the largest empire in the game - but the problem is this, even with 20% taxes, the morale sucks - it's like 30-50% - and I can't put anymore than 15% or so into government spending. This has caused my empire to fall WAY behind in tech and military force. Here's my current expense breakdown: Mil: 364 Social: 78 Research: 148 Maint: 346 Destabilization: 319 Tot
Was in the middle of playing a Huge game and was at war with one of the empires. Problem is that my empire is so large, with the map, it's hard to see incoming ships. Just lost a planet to a transport I didn't even see coming in (and they move slow, so they were easily within sensor range). Would be nice if the game focused on incoming invasion forces/warned you of them...
Nope - didn't change production.
I hope I got the build right (the latest one dated today). Round 1 - selected colony ship, purchased with the lease option (last one). Next round, no ship - but the money was deducted from my account, and I'm paying 5 per turn, so in essense I was charged, but never got the colony ship...
Yah, I just starteda new game with large map. I was in a great chunk of the universe - along with another empire. Even with a scout and many colonization ships, they still took all the good stars before I even knew they were there... Kinda messes things up :(
Hmm - I do play smaller maps usually, but I find it to be an issue with every game I play. For example, I'll find this juicy cluster off in the corner and dispatch colony ships, and BAM - 3-4 turns away, they're colonized by another empire that was never even in the area. Adding the requirement of the AI scouting would also help define where they were expanding to. Right now, the AI just expands everywhere regardless of where they've been...
Hey Frog - excellent job on GC. As a fellow game developer, my hat is off to you. One question though - is it possible for you to vamp the exploration AI of the computer so that you can remove their ability to know where all the yellow stars are at start? I've found that this gives the AI a real unfair advantage in the game. Every single game, I'll research tech before the computer and have the ability to go out and explore with that tech, but BAM - all of the good stars are already
That's the weird thing - I had plenty of defense - they couldn't break through. Morale and productivity went to crap tho...
