Tonight after a few games, I'm suddenly unable to join another game due to this error message. No matter if I log out and log back in, still says I'm not logged in. I have to reboot the game just to play again. Its happened 4 times in a row now. Ren

WTF, who broke the game? AFter leaving a lobby or 2, I get the message that I'm not logged into the server and it won't let me join games. This is the 2nd time its happened to me today. I have to restart the entire game just to get it to recognize that I'm "there." Ren
I'm suddenly having problems with Pantheon locking up the game and crashing. Here's an example. This started about 1 day ago. Unhandled exception: invalid string position Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd line arguments : Callstack: unavailable. Except that there is absolutely no point to being on any particular side. You don't get any perks or bonuses or even a reward if your "team" wins. So they are just random PUG's with the DG pool restricted to a certain set. Its a meaningless distinction, and the lack of any auto-assignment feature simply adds further delay in getting a game going. Ren
Thanks to the new epoch you can't even tell the noobs anymore. Of course I'm 5/5 tonight for people ragequiting . . . its like why bother playing if the player base is just useless. Ren
Hmm, that graph confirms what I've found, it takes forever to get into a Pantheon game. Take the 2 player cut off mark and you can see how low your chances are of actually getting a game going in any 2 hour period. Yet sadly there are enough players, just not in the right distribution to make a 2v2 game. It screams for some sort of matching mechanism where people are randomly assigned to a side that is needing players. Ren
Yes, this is one of those pathetic "I'm leaving" posts. This is an incredibly bittersweet decision for me. Few games have ever provided the emotional impact that Demigod has. From out and out cheering to vicious cursing, this game tugs at my emotions incredibly well. But the persistent flaws are just eating away at my actual enjoyment. First off I commend Stardock for sticking with this game. It had a terrible start and Stardock has had unrivaled customer
Grasp breaks your target lock. Its very frustrating to cast it, then watch as you do nothing afterwards because you are out of hand to hand range and you have no target selected for some asinine reason. Losing target locks is a common problem. I can't count how any times I've been chasing someone and suddenly I lock onto a flying minion and start chasing them. Very frustrating And how about the clipping problems with corners. Rook a
I couldn't purchase Narmoth's ring. I had the money and a slot open but it was dark. The only artifact I had was the speed wand, can you not own both? Ren
I can connect to Custom games, but Pantheon won't connect at all today (16th). I'm in Dallas. Something is definitely different, I rarely had this problem with Pantheon before.
Man I'm loving the replay, I can finally see why things went the way they did. Persistent mistakes are the usual, losers are consistently buying high priced items and failure of people to adapt their builds to the enemy DG's Examples: We had a massive come from behind win that shouldn't have happened. Enemy Tower Rook, Oak, and Erebus were dominating the field and by level 10 had a strong hold on 1 of our portals. Yet by DG level 15 we were routinely
UI - You are going to need a Unit Upkeep Cost, or some way of easily seeing how your finances are doing (+ and -) on the main screen. Maybe a projected next turn Gain/loss and then if you hover over it, a general breakdown of expenses and income. Ren
Hmmm, my reply seems to have gotten lost. Caravans - What is the point here? What is the advantage of having a graphical unit moving across the screen when you could just as easily make any army blocking a road "raiding." With Scouts, Armies, Sovereign's, Monsters, etc. all moving around each turn, do we really need more moving graphics. Given the lack of skill or tension in raiding caravans (no battle), it seems more micromanagement to chase them arou
Sovereign Losing - How about linking it to city Prestige (a historical linkage)? You lose a battle with your soveriegn and take a hit out of your territory influence. Perhaps at a certain point of loss you start losing cities or they become neutral. Conversely winning big battles should enhance your prestige. I'd probably stay away from the Sovereign dying (it is a Hero game, and the Hero always gets away) and just punish you for losing the battle. <
3 games in a row where we start on the map and then the "green Not to mention the unnumerable people who were joining and then leaving in WTF Ren
Here's a simple one - keep clicking on where you want to go when you are running away. Lots of DG's will be distracted by damage and suddenly start attacking something when you really need to be running away. Or you get temporarily stunned and your waypoint suddenly disappears. I died a lot early on because I thought just 1 click would do the job when retreating, now I click like crazy. In fact, watch your pathfinding in general. A number of DG (Rook in particu
Funny, I find QOT is my go to DG when I want to win a game (as opposed to Rook when I want to have fun and lose). Start with priests and any sort of mana bonus favor item. Next up get archers. Now you have 4 minions plus maybe a shambler if you want, dishing out ranged damage. And NOBODY pays attention to minion damage, they see you running around and get all confused as to why their HP is dropping. Use your minions and area effect ranged
I don't know if its been mentioned, but I really enjoyed the random/limited techs I've seen in some game (Sword of the Stars comes to mind). You got the core tech, but various races had a higher chance of being able to research specialty tech trees (which aren't revealed until you get the prerequisite) It added a lot to replayability. Otherwise there tends to be a monotonous pattern that you get into (this game I'm species A and I'll go the merchant route from turn
Same thing happened on single player on Leviathan. I waited 5 minutes and nothing was happening. Task Manager showed Demigod was "running". Ren
Ever since the windows Vista update since last night, if I try to play single player vs AI on Cataract, I get the loading screen but underneath Cataract it says "no text". About 15 seconds later the combat UI loads on top of the load screen, with no mouse or active buttons. Nothing happens. At this point I have to Alt/ctl/Del my way out. I had this happen once with a multiplayer game today as well. But I played another one without any problem. </p
FYI, the level 2 turret attack wasn't too helpful as the yeti's themselves had 2k hp each. Even with splash damage and 3 DG's (including Qot) we couldn't take the minions down fast enough. And the first reaction was "ignore them and grab flags" which did no good at all on Leviathan (early level creep portals do nothing). By the time anyone took it seriously it was too late, the citadel was at 50% and we were all too low level to kill the high level minions. &nb
We got swarmed around level 6 in Leviathan with a ton of minions (Sedna, Erebus, Oak attacking), They just sent in wave after wave of yeti's and minions that ran past all the towers and destroyed our citadel. Even when we had our entire team defending the citadel. We had level 2 towers and level 1 healing tower. Nobody had the 1800 for the 2nd level healing tower which someone claimed would solve the problem. We were really paralyzed as we got no exp/gold for kill
Ok, so I love rook, though not the tower one (though I tried em all). But after 40 games and 30 loses, I couldn't stand it anymore. I switched to Queen. Now I have 3 wins out of 5 games, and the others were very close (got 50 points each time), and I had 0 deaths a few times. Makes me think there is problem with Rook. Certainly the huge drawback I had with him was his slow speed, he just can't react to changing situations well. While the Queen is al
Well the problem with single player is that very little of it is relevant to multiplayer strategy (I'm great against the AI . . . ) so there is a bit of a barrier to exploration of the prestige items. I'm not saying its a game killer, but its there. I was just trying to come up with positive reinforcement ideas rather than negative reinforcements. I like the Spartan tag! Ren
As a frequent loser, its becoming frustrating that I get nothing for hanging in there and still playing. I just toughed out a 50 minute Crucible loss, which was clearly a loss at the 20 minute mark (panteon so we had 2 rooks, and the UB could run from the pass to the only flag and kill either of us before we could seize the flag). I got 10 points for not rage quitting. . . . Frankly you seem to be penalized for exploring in the game. You can't resell prestige items,
