Is the industrial sector upgrade to enhanced factories supposed to take so long to build. Seems like a glitch there in build cost.

Great to here some news on the TGN front. And it sounds like a really smart restructuring of the TGN which should make it more attractive to current and future subscribers. Kudos to you for including those 2 promised games in before the switch to phase two as well. My first question is whether subscribers could have a trial period with any of the newly released phase 2 games on TGN where they could be taken for a test run before using our to
Amen Frightlever. While it is nice to see that SD went to the trouble to hire someone to oversee TGN I'll reserve my praise for when something happens as promises of action have been made in the past.... I don't think anyone here was questioning the quality of the games released so far on TGN (ie. the $80 and bargain comments a few posts above), the whole issue has always been the promise of a game a month for the end of 2004 which
Not to pile on here but I thnk its important that every TGN subscriber that is a little dissatisfied with this should speak up and be heard. My feelings are still as they were when I posted in this thread a month or so ago : http://totalgaming.stardock.com/forums.asp?MID=5&CMID=5&AID=36704#206859 I would rather they say nothing at all than to have all these empty promises floating out there (yep I said it again because that is what they are,
Thanks Frogboy for making an official announcement about this. I think thats all we really wanted, besides the games that is I apologize if the phrase "empty promise"
I too am disappointed at the promise that was made and not sticking with it but I have faith in Stardock that they will come through. With that said though I am waiting on pins and needles for Novembers game. However, if its true that there will be no November or December games then that is somewhat upsetting as a game per month for the first 6 months was there big hook line to get people to sign up to TGN.... I realize they're working thei
" You will know where the stars are. But it's not likely, even by the 23rd century, that we'll know of good planets (yellow stars) hundreds of light years away. " - Draginol " Whether the AI will know the locations of yellow stars or not is of some discussion still. " - Draginol So whats the discussion/controversy? I think it would make for an immensely more balanced playing field if both the AI and human component had no knowl
Heres a question thats related to the fog of war issue and how the AI handles it. Will alien civs have foreknowledge of where all the inhabitable planets and resources are and thus the whole fog of war thing is irrelevant to the AI? I know that was a big complaint throughout GC1 and I guess the big question is whether it is an issue that can even be addressed in GC2 or does it just require a level of AI programming that is not possible.</fo
My problem seemed to be on my end as its working for me now. However, I too have the same problem that markos2 has as the launch shortcut provided in the startup menu (and in the main wwii directory) does not work but I can use the icon in the /bin folder to start mine and it works fine. I tried the profile application as well and it worked for awhile but then crashed (? or maybe just stopped) and the game would not launch after tha
I downloaded it this weekend and it won't install. Not sure if its ready yet. Sure hasn't been any type of announcement about it yet.
So no offense to the GalCiv conversation that got started here but how about getting back to the topic, whats the deal with the October TGN game? Could we get an official word on its status?
btw my vote would be for Jagged Alliance: Ultimate Edition (including the somewhat outdated Jagged Alliance 2: Gold Pack and the more recent JA2: Wildfire). It would be a perfect way to entice folks into purchasing the proposed JA 3 and JA 3D games the Strategy First just contracted to develop (see http://www.strategyfirst.com/press/DisplayArticle.asp?sLanguageCode=EN&iArticleID=3043) ala the release of the D2: ultimate edition. OK not like I don't have enough games to occupy me right now with the 5 that they have already released but just for kicks anybody got a whiff of what the next offering may be or at least when it will be released? As for my own leanings, I'm guessing it will be one of the many in the Strategy First library http://www.strategyfirst.com/en/games/available/ This leaning is simply due to the fact
I have downloaded the entire disciples 2 collection of files from stardock (including the movies) and played through the Empire Dark Prophecy campaign, the expansion Guardians of Light and just started the Rise of the Elves campaign. While the quests that make up the Empires Dark Prophecy campaign all had pre-quest movies and voiceovers, there were no pre-quest movies or voiceovers for the expansion campaign Guardians of Light (which is actually only
The game support forum seems to be swamped right now with Political Machine talk. Without knowing anything about the logistics of this particular forum setup here, would it be possible to categorize the forums a bit more. Say for example a specific Political machine category in game support as well as additional categories for the other games at totalgaming.net.
I think I mirror alot of the same feelings here. But just to add a few points no one has mentioned; graphically, Freelancer is a beautiful game. (Along those same lines I think O.R.B. is right up there with Freelancer in that department.) However, as for gameplay, I got bogged down in Freelancer before I could finish the storyline. The repetitive nature of the missions and the predictability in space comba
Thanks JakeC, I will try that tonight, sounds like it should work. I can't give enough credit to you guys at stardock for your great support!
Well never mind that last post. The archived Disciples II file (and even the movies file for that matter) are far too big to fit on a burned CD (well over 700 MB) anyways so I guess the only way to do this would be to copy the entire directory to multiple CDs, transfer that to my home computer and try to alter the registry....far beyond my skill and understanding. Sigh, I guess its back to overnight download sessions and praying that I can get all 1.
Due to my latest loss of download after 600 MB of Disciples II due to an error, I was hoping someone could help clarify this alternate method of obtaining Disciples II. I had previously asked the question in the GalCiv forums whether it would be possible to download DII on my work computer (which has a fast connection), burn that to a CD and then transfer the game to my home computer where it will be played. I received this response.... "Dip
