In game notepad! For years I've been waiting for a 4X game to let me keep notes (attack here, build this, keep eye on that) within the game. Sure, I can alt-tab and use windows notepad, but that's clunky and possibly crash-prone. Pencil and paper's the other option, but it seems crazy to do that when I've got a fully functioning keyboard right in front of me. Look, the fundamental point that Papa makes (and forgive me if I get you wrong, Mr. P) is that GalCiv is very deep and complex, but badly documented. The only option (certainly while coming to grips with the game) is to play by "feel". As in, the decisions made have to be based on common sense, until certain game mechanics become clear either from playing many games, getting proper documentation or shuffling endlessly through the forums. Notes! I'd love to be able to attach a note to a ship, planet or whatever, so when I come back to a game after a day or two I can remember what the heck it was I was doing. An annotatable map would be great too, so that I can put a little highlight marker anywhere (such as next to a system that I might have plans for further down the track) and then I can type a note so I know why I was interested in the system in the first place.
