sasha777 & Zydor , I have played many games of GalCiv2, in every possible configuration over the years; iron man, without cheats, which cheats, it doesn't matter. The only th

Since GalCiv 2 and later games have included cheat codes, probably the one I use the most is CTRL-N to create a new start if I don't like the one that I have. However, there is one command that I've always wished for, and never had... an ability to increase the AI difficulty while inside a game. Many times while playing GalCiv2, I would start the computer at the level just above challenging (where the AI gets full control of itself and 5% econ bonus), CTRL-N to
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that in Star Control II, most of the history of the first war was spoken by CMDR Hayes as "I remember". There is a lot of detail that was never mentioned in Star Control I, and if Hayes got something wrong, well, he's been trying to keep a starbase alive, not study history. So, you have the pre-history printed in the SC2 manual, then the the remembered history of CMDR Hayes. All Star Control I had was simulations of the great battles. The
[quote who="DivineWrath" reply="1" id="3405100"] I'm holding out because I want more information. I don't like Steam, I don't trust it, and Stardock has been using it exclusively recently. As such, I want to hold off until I have more information as to what the game will use and what options I have. I may end up buying with the intent to hack things so I could play the game without using Steam (and download by using an old PC so I don't need to install Steam on my primar
I just spent $99.99 of the allowance my Wife gives me on the founder edition for two reasons..... One, I've enjoy 4x TBS games, going back to when the term was first coined with MOO (and before with CIV 1), including Galciv 1 & 2.... But mostly, two, I trust StarDock. I don't know the last time I could actually say that about a company, but I trust StarDock to make an enjoyable game to play. I bought Elemental when it first came out due to my trust in Stardock with GalCiv 2, and e
In large galaxies building starbases across your empire is very time consuming. I think you should get rid of some of the micromangement of it. I wish you could put more then one construction module on a constructor so you don't need as many to fully equip a starbase. Increse the cost if you have to so it costs the same, but at least it will get rid of a little bit of micromangement.
The one thing I wish we could do is add more construction modules to constructors so that one constructor could add more then one module to a starbase. This will add some stragic thinking, do you want to put more engines so the starbase gets upgraded faster, or more construction units.
Are you playing Dread Lords or Dark Avatar? If DA, if you put a spy on the planet I believe it tells you the possible production, if they had 100% spending in that area, not the actual production.
I recentally got a new laptop, and the only game I installed on it is GalCivII, mainly since it doesn't require a CDROM (Thanks Stardock!) I was wondering what files I need to move to put a savegame I made on my main computer onto my laptop, or vis versa. I currentally have the latest beta of Dark Avatar installed.
Also, make sure your colony ship or constructor have a colony pod or constructor pod. I know once I made a ship without it and was wondering why it didn't make a colony.
