[quote who="JagerJack" reply="24" id="2489352"]People with bad english skills should not criticize others about their spelling, especially when it's an made-up word in a video game. Also, it's only the addition of a letter, not a total bastardization of the word. One more thing: triggering wand of speed shouldn't interrupt. If you're moving, you should continue moving. Nothing sucks more than to get killed while you are trying to run faster because in fact hitting wand of speed stopped you instead of accelerating your retreat.

*bump*. No update? I haven't seen the issue again since turning off AA and all settings to low detail. Having to do that on a game this gorgeous is a total buzzkill, though.

Same problem here. Vista 64 with a GTX 260, latest drivers, latest BIOS. After a couple minutes, it goes into a hard crash where solid colors start flashing on the monitor. The only solution is to power cycle the system -- everything else is totally unresponsive. The issue seems to have something to do with zooming. Have you tried turning off AA and turning the detail to low? That seems to alleviate the issue a bit for me. I had this same issue in the beta and evidently it was

I run at 2560x1600 as well, on a 30"... I've found that the best way to play is zooming out, looking around and zooming in to the desired location to move the camera instead of trying to move the camera with the cursor or the minimap. And using the number and function keys for spells/abilities/items makes the screen rez irrelevant and ups your game by at least 10x.

You have it backwards -- the interface is currently _not_ scaling with the resolution. It's always the same pixel size, because its a bitmapped interface without support for stretching. Thus, when you have a higher rez, it looks smaller as it is the same pixel size on a screen with more pixels. Adding scaling would be nice, but I doubt that's going to happen -- it's rather difficult to go from a raster interface to vector all of a sudden.

I don't need Demigod in all its glory -- I have a desktop with a Core i7, 6 GB RAM, and a Geforce 260 that runs Demigod at 2560x1600 with all settings high and 16x AA for that. But every now and again I'm on the go and I want to play on my laptop. The game is just as fun without all the graphical niceties. Hell, it could be flat colors with no textures if that made it run smooth. An 8400M GS is definitely within the system requirements -- all that's necessary is either a extra low det

I've got the same setup on my laptop (8400M GS), and it is just barely playable on the lowest rez (1024x768) and lowest settings. Seems to be faster when zoomed in. I wish there was either a way to crank down the detail just a bit more, or maybe go to 800x600. Anyone from SD have answers? Maybe an undocumented low detail or 800x600 mode?

More people had this issue here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/340582 , but these were all nvidia, not ATI. I'd try two things: - Update to the latest drivers. - Crank down all of the graphics settings to low, especially turning AA off. This fixed the issue for me when I had it.

Sounds like this issue: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/340816 , one I was having in the beta. It's not the monitor going to sleep, it's a hard crash. Only way to get it back is to power cycle the box. This is fixed for me in the release version, btw.

According to this: https://forums.wincustomize.com/315663 , you can run Impulse in 32-bit compatibility mode and it should work fine.

Keep in mind, gadget has a 2sec cast time vs 3 sec for potion, which is a huge deal in the middle of a battle. Besides, there's nothing like getting a kill early game after gadgeting some guy who's limping off and thinks he's made it away. And then drops dead 2 seconds later. Gadget is a good tradeoff now. It's multiuse, faster cast, and can kill, so its rightly a bit more expensive

Reply to War Rank in Demigod

According to http://forums.demigodthegame.com/344089 , it's 810 per level, totalling to 7290 for lvl 10.

Same issue here, altho there was no update since the beta 3B on the 5th. Regardless, I see no update and it won't connect.

I'm still getting random crashes with AA off, much much less frequently though. ?ooks like that must not be the only issue here. I turned all graphics settings to low and haven't gotten a crash since (several hours now).

Not a hardware issue, just a hard, hard crash, hard enough where the card needs to be power cycled. Every other game works on this rig, totally solid no problems, and Demigod worked fine with these settings in all earlier betas. Do you guys have a 260 there to test on? I turned off AA and that made the crashes much less frequent, but still happen. Turned all graphics settings to lowest and haven't had a crash since.

Tracked down the issue, for me, at least. I had 16x AA on. Flipped it off and its running like a charm. Anyone else having issues have AA on?

13 Replies 2,782 Views

I just updated all drivers to the latest version (LAN, Sound, etc.) to see if that would have an effect. Nope. Also tried with sound disabled, still no joy.
