[e digicons]8C[/e] Wow @ that answer. Without a doubt, a brush-off that just implies incompetence or laziness. That answer might as well have said, "I'm not even going to read the thread you referenced in your question but instead I'll just zero in on the key phrase 'ping-spiking issue' and give you my generic answer because I've already made up my mind up about what your your problem is. Anyway, don't look at Demigod's problems anymore! We'll have a ni

Ouch. I just popped in and saw that they locked that Monthly Community Question Thread. Sorry, Pseudomelon. I guess they weren't too fond of it for some reason (??). It defintely had some good questions. In any case, it was beyond decent of you to, "carry the torch" so to speak, in that thread for everyone having this problem. On a side note, I just can't help but get the feeling that all this keeps getting underestimated or overlooked as a "low bandwidth
Yuck. Hey rwwalker7. That is great info. And you have a setup that resembles my own. Also you sound like a pretty technical guy. A bunch of us are having this same exact issue as you described so I can empathize. Unfortunately, this has been an on-going issue for a few months now and there hasn't been any word on a fix. I'll try to head a bunch of the usual replies off at the pass and say that 3 major factors of lag in this game are upload speed (DG
Sorry TeamCheese, I can empathize. Ping is fine in the lobby but game lags ridiculously every few seconds...major factors are upload speed (DG requires it to be pretty darn snappy as ShakeNBake mentioned), ports needing to be forwarded, and simspeed (you're simspeed is fine though). If these are good but you still are having ludicrous lag, you might be suffering from whatever mystery has been plaguing a bunch of us for a few months: <a href="http://forums.demigodth
If your latency in the lobby is fine but in the arena is where it gets laggy, and your upload speed is fine, and your ports are forwarded correctly, etc...then you might be seeing the same issue some of us have been experiencing for some months now. No fix yet. Maybe some tips or suggestions from this thread will help. GL. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593
Has been a problem for a bunch of us for a while. No luck so far. Hopefully some suggestions in this thread will help. GL. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593
Yea, Stardock is good people. Just bad times with this game. They said they would process the refund. Their policy is a 60 day limit on paypal account refunds and 90 days on regular credit/debit card account refunds. I was getting close to 3 months but didn't hit the limit just yet. I'll just be a little more wary with the next cool online game GPG develops. Who knows, a few months down the road I might swing by to see if this problems been fixed! I
Just tried a 3v3 on with a host near where I live. Still broke. Still no word back. It's been almost 3 months with this problem. I'm pretty much over it. I'm asking for a refund. [e digicons]x_x[/e]
Ditto. Steam is showing some great discounts. Fallout 3 will probably be stealing my time now. And StarCraft 2 might not be too far away - that should make a decent replacement. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
I've got my fingers crossed, my toes crossed, my arms crossed, my legs crossed, and my eyes crossed. I really hope it does. Playing a Multiplayer game would be great!~ But alas, I see a foreboding shadow and my hope dwindles [e digicons]:pout:[/e] ...no mention of any kind of connectivity fixes included in 1.1. Frogboy mentioned in his pre-1.1 post that "...the connectivity issues have been largely resolved [already]..." even though, in my eyes, the
I've done steps 1 thru 4 including completely uninstalling all anti-virus/firewalls (includes AVG and Avast), I tried putting my PC into the router DMZ, buying a new modem, and upgrading my ISP service. See Dead Ghosts post at http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593 for everything I've tried (and I do mean everything ). My ISP is Cox Cable. I have 10Mb/s (avg of 11Mb/s) down and 2Mb/s (avg of 3Mb/s) up. My router is a NetGear W
Hello. God forbid you still have problems even with local games and after trying the good advice from tperge and woca, theres some of us who are having lag ingame that we just can't seem to fix - even with good speeds like my 10Mb/s down and 2Mb/s up. Hopefully your not in my same boat but our post about it is here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593 . Good luck![e digicons]:star:[/e]
"I will just play 2v2 games and that's it. Anyway, by the looks of it, this game doesn't have a long future, as GPG does not seem to be interested in this game anymore...I hope i'm wrong though." I hope they don't give up on us. I can't even play 2v2.[e digicons]:'([/e]
I tried running tracert to their server, but my packets start timing out after about hop 11 so I can't tracert to their server (209.124.63.231) at all. I tried with ICMP packets (ping), TCP packets and UDP packets but all of them just start timing out before I can get to their server. Anybody else having this problem? 1 1 ms 2
Interesting that SD actually recommends Windows 7. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59187
Ditto.
Yea, just tried a torrent and it downloaded fine. I also just tried the Glasnost tests (again) and everything was good. Edit: Also, I don't have Windows 7.
Never played Supreme Commander unfortunately. Looked it up and looks fun though. Speaking of fun, just for giggles, I tried a Linksys CM100 cable modem too but that was no good either. I also chatted with an ISP rep and asked them if they placed any limits on P2P connections. Here's the synopsis of my chit-chat with them: Me>> I'm trying to play an internet multiplayer game that is based on Peer-to-peer connections but it seems to be getti
Nothing seems to work. [e digicons]#:([/e] Nice shiny new state-of-the-art modem came in. "oooo...ahhhhh...". Nope, new modem didn't fix it. So I was like, "OK thats it...a faster connection has got to at least make a dent." I called my ISP and upgraded to their "Preferred" service. Now instead of 1.5 Mbps down and .26 Mbs up, I get about 11 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up (cable connection). Still didn't fix it! Multiplayer games still ha

Your edit in the OP made laugh and reminded me of my exact problem. Theres a pretty long on-going thread about (what I think is) this same problem on Dead Ghost's post here http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352593 . Might pick up some tips from there. Good luck! [e digicons][/e]
Hiya. Same problem here. [e digicons]:'([/e] No prob at all connecting to any lobbies. In the lobby, everything is cool - everyone green w/ 1000 every 5 - 10 seconds or so. Makes the MP game pretty much unplayable because everyone freezes for a sec or two everytime it spikes. It usually results in the usual hostilities like "hey, fix
