Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

i actually kinda like the ship Seth, kinda has a SW feel to it IMO, but nothing wrong with that of course

i agree, your ship designs are definately improving. i've been trying to find time to work on the ToE designs, but i'm moving, and it's taking up a lot of time.

Actually I was inspired by the Eclipse Super Star Destroyer. Also I'm currently making it bigger, hopefully it'll will be at least 10 kilometers. I will probably have extend the front to make it longer and make he ship more wider.

i think the ship designer automatically scales the ship down to certain in-game dimensions when you make it bigger than it would be. so that might not be possible.

The Empire cpntinues to grow with more conquests and new recruits.  A great welcome to three new Kzinti warriors, Proteous Stryker, zichella, and Deltadagger!

Nice work Seth! :congrat:   My only criticism is that Geckodain looks too skinny to gestate a clutch of Geckodon eggs.  In lizard species, the females are often significantly bigger than the males.  But the Geckodons are lizard-like, rather than actual earth lizards so it probably doesnt matter.

Actually all Geckodains have a pouch inside the area around their stomach that allows them to carry the eggs in before they are ready to lay them, also Geckodon eggs are around the size of a can of Axe so it's not a problem carrying them around.

I'm well into my huge all-abundant map. I'm playing Human in ToA.

Using my diplomacy I bought about 100 planets in year 0. At Xeno Ethics I went evil, and built the MCC. The MCC doesn't do what it does in DA. Instead, it works as advertised. As soon as an AI planet gets the 'rebel' icon, the next turn it defects to you. This is devasting to the AI. I researched all the influence techs, and captured some influence resources and presto. Scores of planets defected on each turn, which gave me more planets, increasing my influence. It snowballed from there. I rapidly captured the map. It's the middle of year 2 and I'm just score grinding now.

that +100% econ was nice, but you're indeed right about how the MCC now makes it relatively easy to take over a map.

And as Loup has said many times, combine that with Dark Influence, and its incredibly powerful.

Well, I am currently writing a campaign for the MV mod. The plot will be about a major conflict invloving the Kzinti, ToE, HcH, Diplomats, Geckodons, and Confederation. The the Klingon Imperial Empire, Colonial Fleet and The Gerontocracy are neautral during this conflict which I call the Great Metaverse War. There will be 5 missions where you play as the Kzinti, 5 as the ToE, 5 as the Diplomats, 5 as the HcH, 5 as the Geckodons and 5 as the United Confedertion of Planets. Also there will be a second campaign that takes place after the war during a Neo-Grox invasion of the galaxy.

Congrat on your latest score Ferrel!  Did you find the Swindle tactics to be helpful?

I desided to redesign the Geckodon colony ship and constructor just for the mod,

I also redesigned the Geckodon spore ship but I don't have a screen shot of it.

Hmmm, that avatar seems pretty familiar.  Glad U like it.  Oh and by the way, more scores coming down the pipeline, I just have to finish some more games.

Thanks KP. Yes, the swindle was useful. I had to modify it a bit for TA 2.02. I used an all lab strategy and I didn't declare war on the whole map. That turned out to be unnecessary. Since the MCC will now flip a rebelling planet immediately, I researched all the influence techs and captured a couple of influence resources. The entire map flipped to me well before the end of year 2. The Korath had one planet in the upmost top corner of the map. The Drengin also had one. The class 8  with the Re-education Centre and Fertility Clinics, I gifted to them. Eventually the Korath planet flipped to me as well. The Spin Control kept my military rating up. I just kept upgrading the 10 ships in orbit until I had started building my array. In year 3, I took out all the minor races. Then it was just building up my planets (approx. 350 of them), my population, and military arrary.  What I didn't count on was the amount of pirates generated when an AI was culturally eliminated. I had them all over the map. Hundreds of them. Not very powerful, but I did lose some undefended resources to them.

For scoring I could use some suggestions. Here's what I did.

Planets.
Class 8 - Starport, Advanced Farm, Recruiting Centre, 2 Discovery Spheres, 2 Stock Markets.
This only gives a max pop of 15B, but Class 8 planets won't grow naturally beyond 14.68B)
Class 9+ (non-capital) - Starport, Advanced Farm, Recruiting Centre, Food Distribution, Virtually Reality Centre, then equal amounts of Discovery Spheres and Stock Markets. This gives a max pop of 18B.
Capiltal planets - Same as class 9, but no Advanced Farm. This gives a max 20B.

Economy.
Ran at 59%, 69%, and eventually 79% taxation, as morale/pop growth allowed. With all 4 morale wonders built, and 2 or 3 fully built up morale resources I kept the empire at between 50% to 60% morale. By the end of year 5 I had almost every planet built up and was generating around 10K income each turn. (All those labs cost a lot). My total population was around 6.5T.

Military.
Built a 4x4 military array, with my Spin Control within the influence of all 16 bases. By the end of year 5 I had around 6,000, Att 1, Def 1, tiny ships, (Atom class) sitting in the array. Each ship cost 44bc, and cost 1bc to maintain.

I bought a lot of my infrastructure, and long-term leased many of my expensive projects. I let the Atom class ships build naturally. This was the most tedious part of the game. Very long turns. Opening up the Civilazation Management screen would take around 10sec., and buying anything from that screen was slow as well. Is that natural, or is there any way I can speed that up?

Anyway ended up with 308K as a score. My highest ever. I had never broken 200K previously. Before my new PC I had only played medium maps.

In the end a was pretty pleased with the results.
