Welcome to the 7 DEADLY SINS mod, as featured in PC GAMER by DANMAN .

 

Welcome to 7 Deadly Sins 2.5 FINAL for the latest version of Sins Entrenchment 1.053.
7DS can only be played at HIGH maximum settings. DO NOT USE VERY HIGH settings. This will cause a minidump. Also, there is an issue with Win7 64 bit. You will get crashes, load errors, or the game will not even play, with or without warning. Just keep reloading the game and trying until you actually get into the game and play. This is a Windows problem, not a problem with Sins or 7DS.

The ultimate combo mod, the "unoffical" expansion of Sins of a Solar Empire, or so it has been dubbed by the mod community.

Mobile Starbases -all races possess starbases that can move about the gravity well to interdict enemy forces -assault carefully.

 

12 Playable Races with their own traits that make them more unique, from being a total offensive race, to a highly researching race. Each race now has its own unique tactics of gameplay.

Trader Emergency Coalition- solely based on trade and swarming, with little military might
Corpo-Nations that have rebelled against the Trade Order. Their military might stripped, they have turned to allying themselves with various factions and hiring mercs for protection.
TEC has new Battlecruisers, mercenary contracts, and EMP shells that bypass shields to a small degree.
Trade Coalition Armada- the military arm of the Trade Order
Once the development arm of the Trade Order, they are now the last hope for the Trade Order and humanity. Their ships are bricks with extreme range railguns.

TCA has state of the art weapons on traditional capitalships plus the Dresden and Athena Dreadnought and Beta Kol Titan.
The Orion Unity- modified Orion and Advent Combine
Some Orion split with the Atlantian-Orion Combine to guide the Advent towards their ultimate evolutionary stage. TOU ships are stronger, faster and deadlier; They can even travel between worlds using the Phase Stabilizer technology of the Tempest Titan.
Ship research boosts weapon performance.

DARK FLEET- modified Vasari
The Dark Fleet is all that remains of the Vasari. Where the weak Exodus ran often and fought rarely, the Dark Fleet seeks total dominion through force of arms. Their 5 Titan ships roam looking for prey.
Play style is familiar with greater armor, firepower and destructive potential.

Imperial Armada- from Star Wars
Guided by a clone of General Thrawn, the wasteland armadas of the Imperial Armada can employ powerful Force Alchemical Technology and even unleash the power of the Executor Super Star Destroyer.
Can unlock Jedi and/or Sith Holocrons for performance boost to defenses or offenses respectively -and at the expense of the other.

Rogue Cadre- Playable, custom pirates
Rob, pilfer, and steal your way to greatness. The Rogue Cadre is a melting pot of human cultures, Advent refugees and what remains of the Vasari. They have gathered against the TCA, TOU, Atlantian-Orion Combine and TOC to free humanity from tyranny, mysticism and slavery.
Posess the Precursor Titan and The Machine -the latter capable of capturing capitalships

Arilou Vanguard- UFO race from the Star Control Games
Not being of this dimension, the Arilou do not rely on money and normal means of transport or construction. They simply spawn ships from their "motherships", and travel through Quasispace, which propels them at near instant speeds from planet to planet.

Ur-quan KohrAh Third Doctrinal Fleet- Death race from the Star Control games
Totally aggressive, the Korh-Ah are built for battle. They are all offense, and barely any defense. They focus on exterminating every race and every planet they find, and almost every ship is capable of boming from orbit. Their goal is to "cleanse" the universe of all other sentient life, anything that is not an Ur-Quan.

Ur-Quan KzerZa Third Doctrinal Fleet- Slaving race from the Star Control games
Unlike their Kor-Ah cousins, the Kzer-Za believe in a diplomatic approach, let alone old habits of enslaving entire races into their Hierarchy. They have grown from their 10,000 year old ways, and are more good than bad now.

Atlantian-Orion Combine- the ultimate race, the seeders of life (the gods)
The Combine are part of the original Creator Alliance and responsible for seeding galaxies with genetic data. The Orion are the protectors and defenders until the Atlantian vessels can be fielded. Their greatest strength is their technology, but the loss of labs remove bonuses gained from research.

Taalo Horde- Ancient Rock race, from the Star Control games
As if the universe itself groaned for a protector, the Taalo have awakened from a million year slumber only to find old allies -the Atlantians and Arilou stripping the galaxy of semi-sentient flo-metal. They are the ultimate enviromental defender with a naive sense of justice. They have incorporated alien technology into their asteroid bodies with great results.

Triad of Creation- Ancient Destroyers of Worlds, Galactic Enslavers
The Triad of Creation, the Dnyarri, Antaran and Lapis, seek to eradicate all life in the universe. They nearly destroyed the Atlantian-Orion Combine in the Ori galaxy by turning their creation -the Vasari- against them. They emerged from within the Rogue Cadre taking a sizeable portion of their population into slavery. Their fleets struck the Taalo and Dark Fleet with vessels designed for infiltration nearly crippling the two factions.

Hey Danman thanks for a great mod, can you tell me if solar sins is 1.05 compatible? and if not will you be updating it? Been playing 7 DS which plays without a flaw until I reach between 5-7 hours gameplay then when I load up a saved game it mini dumps after a few seconds then all previous saves all so mini dump after loading up. most strange and frustrating, so I thought I would go back to solar sins.

For anyone struggling with colonizing with the rogues one good way is to be targeted by the pirates. If you take the pirate LHD it can also colonize planets. So you dont have to steal an enemy colony ship hich is a lot harder.

Wow...busy day. Ok, some replies:

I'd just like to say this mod is rather incredible. Busy destroying everything with the Atlantian Titan Caps... Ahh, those beams are a great sight! I was just curious---are the ridiculously strong pirate bases intentional? Because with anything less than an end-game fleet, it's pretty much mandatory that you go around rather than through.


Glad you love the mod, and the Titan Atlantian ships. Yes, beams all the way! The pirate base is supposed to be really hard, end-game hard. Think of them as a boss at the end of the game, you need to bring everything you got in order to beat them.

whatever but weren't they the ones whit the organic technologyOr you could say hey isnt this babylon 5 the Vorlon and Shadows had the same thing going on...


I don't know what you are refering too, but if its the Atlantians, then yes. They will have organic tech later on.

can u plzzzzz give the rogue their own capture frigates?


They already do have their own capturing ships. The Heavy Cruiser , all three versions, have the capture ship and capture module abilities. If you are talking about a COLONY ship, than that would make the Rogue WAY to powerful. I had to balance them out by giving them a slow start. Besides...they're Rogues. They should be stealing everything!

Oh, and one other thing--The Progenitor Motherships, when playing as Atlantians, behave as a colony ship would. That wouldn't be a problem except that includes when you're selecting fleets, making the Progenitor a pain in the butt to bring along in a battle fleet. Is there any way to fix that?


That was done on purpose, but I don't like it either, so sure...I'll change them.

Hey im not gettin to download from the links givin can some one give me the new updated links???oh yeh and i wanted to ask 7deadly sins is a combination of multiple mods right?? so can i download those mods seperatly and them or wud tht make it diferent than 7sins??And i wud really like if "real capital ship" mod was added to 7sins coz tht makes the capital ships feel like real power cards to b dealt... they easily bcme the center of the fighting...i like the concept of new races but i was hoping they wud hav their own ships than actually borrowing ships from the advent and varanasi..keep up the good work guys....

Danman, is there any way for you to include a research that makes black holes less deadly? Maybe have ships take less damage when passing thru, or make the exterior ring of effects do less damage? They are a cool idea, but random maps tend to put them in the least possibly convenient positions and when i try to go around the outside, they still destroy my lighter ships.


Maybe the research. I'll also see what I can do about toning down the BH a bit.

This mod is the best thing that has happened to the game, and especially so since you get to hear Mr. Kilmeister at the main menu. Well done.

The dumping is weird, so is corrupting all your saves. Is there anyway to send a screen shot, or your saved game file? I'll see what I can do to help you.

Finally, someone notcied that. But, you failed to notice that the Rogue can BUILD the LHD. It is a Heavy frigate. Check it out and see for yourself.

Do u hav any ideas on wat they will b like??
I really think there shud b a Cylon race like in the "BattleStar Galactica"
their capital ships look like a huge version of the Vasari firgate i think its called the skirmisher....
and if u get the advent's firgate(cant remember the name its the first attack frigate u get when u strt the game) to fly backwards and make them smaller length wise and a bit in width it wud look like a Cylon fighter...
I really think having homicidal Robot fleets will b really good for the game :P
the fighters cud b strike and bomber mixed....
making their carriers really horrific to battle against.. evn thought they might not hav sheilds...

You probably ran out of virtual memory. This is the case with most games that last more than 3 hours (like Supreme Commander), but because Sins uses less resources, your able to go on for a few more hours. The only way to fix this is to edit a couple system files in the boot directory, and enable it to use 3 or more gb of virtual memory.

Do you have 1.3d? Make sure you don't have an other mods running. Also make sure you clicked 'enable on startup' and then exit and restart Sins.

There are a lot of races planned, that continue on the Atlantian/QUAN Kohr-Ah storylines. Another mod team is already doing a Battlestar Galactica mod, Sins of Alethia
When the other mods, like the Star Wars mod, are finished, Danman will add them to his mod, (with permission of course).

I agree. Try turning up your virtual memory. Or, play for about two hours, save, exit the game, then go back in.

I agree again. Black Holes are rare, so if you want a guaranteed one, make your own map. They are in the random maps, just less often. If you find one, you'll know it. It usually scares most people.

Actually, they are in mind, and I have some Battlestar models, but that's on the backburner for now, and I'll leave that up to the other mods for now.
Right now, I have my hands busy just making thr 20-30 or so races from Star Control, so that's my main focus as far as races are concerned.

ETA is about another week or more, and yes, the AI WILL use the new races, and the are VERY good at doing so. The Rogue will capture ships, the Atlantians will use the TITANS, and the Ur-Quan Korh-Ah will destroy everything they come across. Nice huh?

Lose a bet with FouracesII? Not a chance. He and I are very close, as he is one of my most trusted and valued team members. Besides, we're too busy making the mod than to play around with bets!  ;)

Hey danman.... i checked out the mod yestrday night(i know i shud hav been studin but i gave in to temptation):P and well i played as the atlantians and well everythin was the exact same as the Vasari.. i mean no offence by sayin this but other than u cant build 2 of the capital ships right away there is hardly and difference between the two....
everythin else was superb thou :D
Everythin looked really cool and well the quick phaze jumping helped game play alot...

wat si-fi alien stuff wud b complete with out bug creatures???!!! Their spaceships too wud look kind of like bugs.. u know curvy with florescent shiny plating.. and ugly gun protrusions....
Its just an idea tht wud complete a 20 race kill zone madness tht u must hav in ur mind :D

Hahah, actually, the Atlantians play a LOT differently than the Vasari...AND the Advent, the other race that they're based off of. In fact, not that this is relevant, the Atlantians play much more similarly to the Advent as opposed to Vasari.

You'll find that aside from some (amazing) superficial changes, the Atlantians focus a lot on fewer, but ridiculously powerful ships. Their capital ships are essentially nerfed Advent caps, but their titans are superpowered Vasari caps. Try building the Osiris next time around--it's bigger than an asteroid planetary body!

The other thing about the Atlantians is that their ships are exceedingly expensive--the most expensive Atlantian Titans run 10,000 credits. This makes a more conservative playing style work better, as you've got to be more cautious about losing ships. Then again, it means you can run your smaller fleet into a bigger one and come out with hardly a scratch. A level 10 Osiris can trash a heavy cruiser in about ten seconds on its own. :)

So...I didn't really mean to write an essay, but I like the Atlantians. :D

By the way, DANMAN, if you'd like I'd be happy to help you do some copy writing--a lot of the descriptions for the new races, especially the Rogues, is sloppy and inconsistent, not to mention occasionally completely grammatically incorrect! you failed to notice that the Rogue can BUILD the LHD.

Hey danman.... i checked out the mod yestrday night(i know i shud hav been studin but i gave in to temptation) and well i played as the atlantians and well everythin was the exact same as the Vasari.. i mean no offence by sayin this but other than u cant build 2 of the capital ships right away there is hardly and difference between the two....
everythin else was superb thou
Everythin looked really cool and well the quick phaze jumping helped game play alot...


U must have the older(1.2) version as the adlantians are more like the Advent than the Vasari & almost all ten of the Titans/Caps cant be build staright of. make sure u get version 1.3D

and yes, the AI WILL use the new races

Yea and it rocks apart from when u come across an alied Atlantian and rouge supper fleet (I should know as i just got wasted by one) :SNIFF!:

Their spaceships too wud look kind of like bugs.. u know curvy with florescent shiny plating.. and ugly gun protrusions....Its just an idea tht wud complete a 20 race kill zone madness tht u must hav in ur mind

In fact, not that this is relevant, the Atlantians play much more similarly to the Advent as opposed to Vasari.You'll find that aside from some (amazing) superficial changes, the Atlantians focus a lot on fewer, but ridiculously powerful ships. Their capital ships are essentially nerfed Advent caps, but their titans are superpowered Vasari caps. All is fixed in version 2.0 when it comes out. A lot of the descriptions for the Rogue and Pirates came in from HammerSun's mod, and he has poor English. But your help is appreciated, and such I will email you to see if you can help in other areas.

I will check that, but I am pretty sure it works fine. I will let you know what I find. The FRIED does not cause a hit effect, but if you check the enemy for damage, it will be there. Also, the FRIED system is great for wiping out enemy attack craft.

Hey i got it to download.. i clicked download and then when it said click to try again.. i did.. and aftr about 5-6 tries it went into auto mode every 10 sec it refreshed, aftr 15-20 retries by the site the download box opened... (atlast)
But it took me 3 hours to download!!!!!

anyway i tried the game and i think its gr8... Nice idea to make the Athenians with lots of powerfull frigates and cruisers. but u can only get the capital ships and higher cruisers aftr research late into the game.. so at the strtin of the game u really hav to avoid ingaging any major enemy fleets, unless u hav amassed alot of ships... It keeps their power balanced.. i didnt get to check rogue, will try it latr.. but gr8 work!! ;)
